If I buy a bra in the size according to a measuring chart then the important bits land up under my arms. If you look at me sideways I am more of a O then an 0. So every bra fitter says cup size correct, but a smaller size with an extension is required. That of course sends the straps further towards the edge of my shoulders. Which didn't used to be much of a problem as I had very square shoulders. Unfortunately age has made those shoulders drop a bit. Now I need a strap like a double ended suspender to hold the straps from falling off my shoulders. Found by accident on Amazon. A habit I was trying to give up.5

That's a great story, @Suffolk_lass! We could do with ladies like your Grandma still touring the towns. I'd be first to book.
@badmemory, there are some advantages even to an Am azon habit!
I realise, reading this discussion, that I need to get some new bras. At least one gets saggy shoulders because the straps are ancient, but I suspect I've changed size too. There's a bra bank locally to raise money for breast cancer research so I can donate the discards there and that will be two good deeds done: to someone else if the funds raised help someone, and to me because I'll have a much better fit.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. Loving the bra chat.
Yesterday felt like a rest day. CC and I went out with neighbour and her horse in the morning so lovely walk around the block and chit chat. Made a pot of lentil soup then more orchard clearing. Having read a lot I realise most of the problems are based around (a) orchard hygiene and (b) the trees are too close together. I picked most of the remaining apples other than the tree that is not yet ready. The trees are all heritage varieties and one tree will not be ready until very late in the year, and apparently can store on the tree. However these will be eaten by CC before then. Once the leaves are down I will think about taking out some trees, but for now, have cleared all the diseased apples and stewed lots of ones that were fine.
WattyDog was so cute, I offered him his pick of the apples I bought into the kitchen but he didn't understand I really did mean him to choose so he politely sniffed them and left them. I gave him one but he still didn't eat it until I was not looking
A lot of apples stewed in slow cooker and frozen. There is another batch to do. I thought about making a chutney but then realised I was making more work for myself. Just chopping and chucking in slow cooker and then freezing in serving portion sizes was the easy way to use them.
VNM continued work on the bench we pulled out of the orchard. Tbh if we had known how much work it was to restore we would have chopped it up for firewood but he is now heavily invested in bench. It has a new leg, a new arm, a re-designed back and braces to support parts. In other words he has built a bench from scrap timber. He is going to paint it and then it will sit alongside front door.
Right must press on, off to London today. Need to find railcard.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!8 -
I am getting pictures in my head of the flagstone floored kitchen with an Aga and (apple-munching) dog on his blanket in front of it while you (in flowery pinny of course) add apples to a huge cast iron pot. I know you said 'slow cooker', but I am getting overwhelming 'country kitchen' vibes!
Naturally CC has his head over the open half door to keep you company.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I’m not convinced by this new ‘interesting’ button … What’s the point?!Love that WattyDog wouldn’t eat the apple until you weren’t looking - apples are all the tastier when eaten covertly, don’tcha know … 😉😂❤️
