Watty's Awakening

My picture of Watty feeding the chickens from the kitchen door, with an Aga behind and the VNM to one side with a tractor, has now been replaced by one where she's a block of ice being carried between various friends without the need for a stretcher as she has no bend left in her. Needless to say, hair and arms are rigid and stick out sideways and in a few minutes she will be thawing in front of the Aga while the friends put the kettle on and sit drinking her tea as they watch the defrosting process. There's a surprised-looking equine head peering out of the loose box, chickens are nowhere to be seen and WattyDog is getting in the way asking for a game.

Nice reframe of the email problem thank you @WelshmansDaughter and KK that post was hilarious. I burst out laughing because it was both funny but true.
Ice thawed enough to ride CC today round the block with a neighbour. He was so pleased to be out, bless him.
Yesterday dropped 4 items off at charity shop and today binned a few as part of the decluttering process. Have also repaired a saddle cloth (goes under saddles) and washed 3 of them. Cleared bench in feed room (removing rubbish and putting things away) Left over Indian has been munched and this evening we had garlic bread from the freezer with cheese and a red lentil and pepper soup from freezer.
Also walked WattyDog and whilst at the charity shop met a friend so we had coffee. Lots of wins for me this weekend.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Well I am up and at work. I have made myself a list of things that need doing as the side effects of the meds has now dropped to manageable. NHS counselling has sent me a link to book a call so I will sort that out. I'm happy with my private person but I think exploring all options would be a good plan.
Realistically running my company has really not been happening, I've been coasting with what needed to be done but I think today I need to tackle some of the more outstanding stuff so I have written a list with 7 things on. These are actually more "me" than work but it is a start (book annual vaccinations for the horses, hygiene was for the washing machine, defrost house freezer) and there is one work thing that is stressing me so tackling that a good idea.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Love the list of 7 it is good to start somewhere and do it bite size, hope you get started and not find it too hard. I post my longer term to do list on my diary just so I can keep tabs and motivate myself when I have actually done them.Moved to Denmark for FIRE by Aug 2025 “May your decisions reflect your hopes not your fears”

Lost the list but did manage to order hay, book two horses in for their annual vaccinations and send farrier a text. Put washing machine on for the long overdue hygiene wash. We ran out of gas in the morning but the order was delivered that morning and the delivery chap connected it up and pointed out I had 4 empty bottles so another 2 ordered (I usually buy 2 at a time but had left a radiator on in the bathroom and kept forgetting to switch it off as did VNM and I think it just burnt through the gas during the really icy time).
Work wise did manage a few small things.
Today have mental health phone assessment, not sure what this is but that soon, followed by initial site visit for ecology report that is needed for planning Then afternoon at work just doing what is needed there.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Not necessarily a wholly bad thing to have left the radiator on in the bathroom even it if it was a bit hungry on the gas. Kept you warmer and probably healthier, minimised and damp and mould growth in there and avoided burst pipes - my parents live in an old Victorian house and my dad quite deliberately lights the gas oven in the back kitchen to stop frozen / burst pipes in the mahogany thunderbox in the room above ...
Hope the MH assessment is gentle, the ecology survey interesting and that work flows easily today.

MH assessment was kind. I have PTSD. Hmm I think a lot of you on here had worked that out
After a lot of concern about my risk of self harm, the assessment continued, I have 3 horses, a cat and a dog and a great partner, self harm is not on my radar. The result was the person wants to think about what to suggest as a next step. No idea what that means but there we are.
Ecology chap was nice, we had a walk around and he has gone away to come up with recommendations and suggestions we can send in with the planning application.
After a solid lunch of chicken and black bean soup and bread followed by the last of the chocolate I'm now settling into an afternoon at work. WattyDog is on an enforced rest as he is very quiet and I think he may have overdone things!
