An ice cream maker is a useful piece of kitchen equipment!! You can experiment with different flavours! I tried lavender and honey which was lovely, although next time, I think I’ll use a little less lavender. Have fun!
    That sounds really, really nice!

Elderflower sorbet is lovely too, made with cordial. Or blackcurrant with a licorice ripple. Or orange & ginger (with finely chopped crystallised or preserved ginger). Or vanilla with a jammy ripple. (My ex-husband had an icecream machine!)

You guys are making me gain weight just reading! :D Orange and ginger sounds very good...

My first make might be brandy flavour, as I just found a long-life plant-based cream in the fridge (I knew it was there actually and was aware the BB date is in August - turns out it's tomorrow). I bought it just after Christmas, marked down to 12p... brandy flavoured. I've spent the intervening months wondering what to do with it!

The study got prepped, with some help from DH and a useful commentary, and I decided not to go all out to minimise food costs as I had enough to think about. £15.99 spent in total, with six slices of pizza, two or three portions of pasta, some salad and some salad cheese left over. So guess what I'm having over the next few days?! We also have the remainder of yesterday's curry for main meals. There actually was no fridge space left after the most vulnerable foods were stored so vegetarian pizza and a bowl of salad have had to sit out on the side.

I cleaned the top part of the fridge in the end and threw out the remnants of a jar of curry sauce but everything else has just gone back. I need sleep!

And it's quite likely that poor DGD has come down with something. She's seen the doctor twice today. She's had her injections so hopefully it will just be mild but you do feel for them (and for her parents: I've done enough wee small hours with sick people and it's tough, though it didn't finish me off).

You could be onto something there - pigs in blankets ice cream, anyone?

    But then, there's this. :)

I've had Marcus Wareing's cheese icecream... it's bizarre on its own but works with his Eccles Cakes!
