I had two and a half hours at work and came back to curry, and DH had cooked rice for me...DH says he's missed this recipe too.
Today started not-so-hot (jeans and a light jumper) and developed to the capris and tee shirt stage, with some sun but a constant look as though there were a terrific storm about to break. We've had a few days of these really dark clouds, very moody and generally coming to nothing. Odd.
I'm glad I motivated myself to press on with jobs, but I was actually quite tired by the time for work, and so many things are still on the list: some grocery shopping, more make up remover and foundation, plant pots, ice cream maker, study, weeding and budget. Still, nothing spent today (though am looking at the regular saver Blackcats mentioned: it could be a good replacement for my Christmas saver which is getting towards maturity).I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. Breaking the weather yesterday was a very good thing. Horribly muggy1

Have you ever tried using vegetable oil as makeup remover? Much cheaper and ime leaves skin beautifully soft whilst easily removing even the waterproof mascara I always wore.
I used to have a little plastic dish (so if I knocked it off the basin it wouldn’t shatter everywhere!) which I just put a spoonful of oil into- then it is simply a matter of washing my hands and then dipping all clean fingertips into the clean oil, and massaging all over my face, using more oil if needs be; then just wiping it away with a clean face-flannel wrung out in warm water, and that’s it!
I used a clean dish each time so the oil was always clean (I just cleaned it with the ordinary washing-up), but I used only one half of a flannel, then the other half next day.A teaspoon of sunflower oil, even olive oil, costs a lot less than makeup remover2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

I'll give that a try thanks, @Laura_Elsewhere. I've been using an oil-based cleanser so it's just a step further along that path. I also have a small container of coconut oil and a tiny bit of that goes in the bath - great for my skin and at the amounts needed, very cheap. The disadvantage is that the bath needs more cleaning, but it has really helped with problem dry skin.
@redofromstart, @WelshmansDaughter, I see it's rained again overnight so I'm hoping the mugginess has gone. The air was thick yesterday evening!
DH is still asleep, it's his day off. My list for today is:- tidy the kitchen
- tidy the guest room
- get my course material from debt advice together for tomorrow
- shop for pizzas
- round up some more plant pots
- check ice cream maker is working
- prep for this evening's study
- weed at least one garden tub
- push on with the budget

@Cherryfudge, ooh, you can use coconut oil as a makeup remover too- exactly the same, just massage it in well and gently wipe away with clean damp cloth wrung out in warm water2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

I'm continuing to feel edgy and not know why. Caffeine and chocolate are reduced, so I doubt it's either of those. I'm sleeping okay then waking earlier, which isn't right for me. The headache came back, so I'm thinking that could be tension. There's nothing outstanding to be properly worried about either, unless it's something subconscious... anyway we have decided not to go out this afternoon so I can have some time to continue prep for tonight and tomorrow. I've done a bit already.
Other than that I cleaned out a kitchen cupboard. It's always interesting to see what's lurking: five lots of gravy, anyone? Two similar ones were poured in together so that's a bit of rationalisation. Two mincemeats... will keep. I'd make mincemeat cake but it's the wrong thing in this weather. Anyway, mincemeat will keep. Six mini jars of jam, mostly a gift from D from a holiday he had a while ago, as was the jar of special Italian pesto that needs to be used up this month. Forgotten jars of chocolate spread and peanut butter, 8 containers with salt in (including salt cellars), various chutneys, three lots of honey, oddments of chocolate, three neglected bags of sweets... these are things that needed to see the light of day and plans made. So far I've not had to throw anything out.
Next plan is to clean the fridge as I need fridge space to store salad things to have with pizzas tonight. Crikey, this is not a job I look forward to. I will be glad if I can use up some of the random stuff from there tonight instead of just repacking it!
I actually have several days to do the guest room and not too much to do there, so I will take that off the list for now. I'm going to make the most of the weather and put more washing out. The grass is too wet to mow but it's sort of pending.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

An ice cream maker is a useful piece of kitchen equipment!! You can experiment with different flavours! I tried lavender and honey which was lovely, although next time, I think I’ll use a little less lavender. Have fun!
