I was really lucky at the market yesterday as they had rhubarb which didn't look as forced as usual. I used to get it from the son of a friend but he was inconsiderate enough to move house. I wish I could grow it. Still we have rhubarb batter pudding in our near future. It is like toad in the hole but rhubarb. Your rhubarb muffins reminded me & made my mouth water.

So far (mid-afternoon), I've had a productive day doing almost nothing off my list. Instead I had an extra-long go on Duolingo (I can now say 'My neighbour has two cats' and 'I need a red jacket' in Italian, and I haven't forgotten the words for a shark and an ant). Then I went for a run and had coleslaw for lunch with cheese and crackers. So once again I have several meals' worth of coleslaw. Why is homemade so much more acidic than shop bought? Is it just because shop bought has so much mayo?
I have an hour and a half before work so I'm going to make muffins if I have all the ingredients.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

The school cleaning jobs with commercial companies are usually before or after school - most common was 3.30 till 6pm, and as standard 39 weeks of term time plus 4 weeks deep clean in the holidays. Most of them want bank cleaners too (casual staff) as well.My subscribers issue of GW is on its way supposedly but has yet to arrive. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I sweeten the rhubarb with caster sugar & add powdered ginger then pour normal pancake batter over.

Today's rhubarb muffins turned out okay though I overdid them a bit and some were oozing a sort of rhubarb flavoured toffee, which isn't a bad thing, just not meant to happen. Work has been fine and DH made tuna pasta for tea. I didn't go to town so I've not been spending. I even did a bit of ironing.
It's lovely that the weather is warmer, though I'm not sure what Storm Kathleen will be like. The ground here is still very wet, but I think we will miss the worst of tomorrow's weather as we are on the sheltered side of the country. Nevertheless in the interests of good habits, I've charged my Fitbit and backup charger for the phone in case there's any problem with the power.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. Our blue one is for glass & plastic. The recipe is a very old Good Housekeeping book copyright 1963. A much needed wedding present in 1969 as I didn't know how to boil an egg as I had never been allowed in the kitchen. The pages are now this orange/brown colour. Unfortunately it is too old for good curry recipes. It is still the best cook book I have & I used to have a lot. I still struggle to cook without a recipe though, it would never occur to me to just wing it.2
