End of day round up:
Ironing - done and put away.
New sheets and towels are laundered and put away apart from one which turned out to have no side hem, so that's to be returned on Monday.
The carpet remains un-shampooed.
The guest bedroom is improved but still needs my uniform and a small heap of foodstuffs put away, and the plants watered.
The bathroom is cleaned.
The dishes are done.
The kitchen is a mess - but I can clear the side in the morning and the shopping is put away already.
Fruit bowls are refilled.
The Boots Recycling app is still being ignored.
All but the top shelf of the fridge and the little shelves in the door are clean and tiny. I've not bothered with those as they are mostly jars and nothing drastic will have happened there.
Cake not made: I bought one.
No run: exercise was lugging the shopping home.
I didn't make it to A and H's to collect their parcel: DH will do it on the way through tomorrow. It's a 40 minute walk each way so really I was unrealistic thinking I could fit it in.
I tidied away some buckets and plant pots from the garden, and gardening tools from the hall, but the hall is still rather messy. That's partly because the vacuum cleaner is out and in pieces, drying out after dealing with the leaky dishwasher. Tomorrow I hope to locate a new bag for it and hoover downstairs first thing. I've done some with the 'baby Shark' so the stairs and landing look okay.
The lounge will 'do' with a quick tidy.
The dining room is better than it was but there will be inevitable stashing in the morning.
I did manage to clean the bird feeders and restock! I also watered some wilting plants. Neither were on the list but I'm glad they got done.
Expenditure:
Housekeeping/entertainment £33.18
Medical £5

@Cherryfudge - all in all you had a very productive day! - enjoy your guests ❤️
As far as the package goes - I'd not worry overly - if it was delivered at the wrong time and left on the porch in plain site, the seller is responsible if it goes for a walk! The contract is between them and the carrier, not the carrier and the recipient. I've had this just happen multiple times & we live on a main street (for a town) - replacement or refund was issued in all cases without much fuss.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Thanks @rtandon27, amazingly I had things guest-ready a while before it needed to be, though that meant missing church and stashing some stuff in our bedroom. I was able to have a few minutes of gardening which was nice: I'd realised there was still a small amount of debris left by the builders so it's now swept into a pile and I've made a start on sieving out the bits of concrete and binning them.
The visit so far has gone very well though DH must be tired from doing so much. We had a light lunch then walked to the station to get some tickets she needs (DH gifted those to her as he won't be able to drive her home). Then back to the house for a cuppa, and off they went on a walk. It was quite hot so I pled that and needing to start dinner so I could have a quiet afternoon. I was very proud to use the first bit of home-grown garlic in a chicken chasseur, and there's a tiny bit of sauce left over which can be a lunch one day soon.
We sat out in the garden and were joined by the Super-Friendly Cat who decided it's our turn to be visited. Such a lovely animal. I also got a different angle on the bowed-down greengage and realised how much more interesting the garden is with a bit of a central feature. Perhaps I need to turn it into a greengage bower? I don't know how feasible that would be and certainly it would complicate mowing the grass.
Nothing spent by me today and DH will have bought drinks on the journey and the rail fares.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

DH and Auntie are out for the day (which means immediately after breakfast till id afternoon) and I am very busy getting nothing done! I really need to get my act together but not sure what that involves.
I've heard back from a former colleague so I hope to meet up with her next week.
I've to take the faulty sheet back to the drop off shop, and plan something for dinner, and really I need to make a decision about the new glasses, and buy another magazine to send to my SiL who's recuperating from an op.

Things got complicated: the faulty sheet has been returned and I've had an email to say it's been refunded. However (long story), D is in Spain (I had no idea) and sent me a message to say the order was going to the wrong pick-up. I think he is home tomorrow, so he has instructions to try to get back two items that had already been dispatched. The third, thankfully, I was able to cancel and place a new order to go to his house. Meanwhile I've reordered the two errant ones, so I really hope he can retrieve and return the spares! He will pay me back for the ones in his name, so potentially I'm about £20 down if he can't get access to the locker that's in the wrong building.
I did some grocery shopping: dinner was fish in breadcrumbs with a home made cous cous, tomatoes and peas, followed by a Bakewell-type tart and strawberries. I got another magazine for my SiL so I need to get those wrapped and sent, and I noticed an offer for 6 lavender plants for £5 at L1dl. There was only one left so I had to get it, didn't I? I lost the only lavender plant last winter: it was a cutting from my former neighbour and was many years old, from an even older plant in her garden. I'm thinking of putting the new plants along the border between the houses, but I suspect there are too many...
Other than that, I've ordered the E45 shampoo from the Big River (£4.99 I think), and taken @badmemory's advice to shop around for aqueous cream. I found it in B0dycare for £1.39, which I think is even less than last time I bought it! I bought a cap for DH as I'm lending him mine rather a lot, and also some socks for him to add to my Christmas stocking. I've added £3's worth of data to my phone (not sure why I'm getting through such a lot). Then there were the various bits of Pr1me buying and a birthday card, and finally, a book for me from a charity shop.

A few years ago I had a really bad eczema flare up which resulted in me having to take steroids and antibiotics. I was covered in it from head to toe and it became infected and extremely sore. The GP advised me to use emollient cream as a hair and body wash. You only need a tiny bit then add water to it to make a lather. I always keep some in now and use it as soon as I feel I might be in danger of a flare up.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

That's useful thanks @Sun_Addict: I've used aqueous cream to wash my hair tonight and while it's early days, it does feel comfortable.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
