We have Prime but it gets used a lot. We use the TV part of it too. I pay annually and put away 1/12th every month to cover it. I’ll probably cancel it when I retire though as I want to get the outgoings as low as possible.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

One of the male blackbirds here rattles the kitchen window if they have run out of mealworms.
I expect the blackbirds was complaining about the lack of meal worms then: it's all seeds and peanuts and fat balls here.

Pretty much exhausted tonight. The car limped through with the aid of several checks on the tyres, but the garage can't replace the tyre till Friday and I think DH said it will cost £71. There's a nail in the shoulder of the tyre and they say the position is such that they can't do anything to repair it.
We had a good day looking after the littlies, £10.18 spent on groceries and poor A has a further two week wait for dental work as they'd made him an appointment with the wrong person (but are not charging him extra as it was their fault).
We had mackerel for a very quick dinner, then I was off to session 2 of my course, but didn't find it as engaging as the previous one. I like the way it's structured but probably wasn't awake enough to process it very well.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

You had my hopes up there, @dawnybabes! Thank you. Alas, that one is 78mm long and we need 110mm. I would imagine there is something along the same lines but searching seems to be screening out the length specified and just giving me the R7S spec.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. Thanks @in_need_of_direction, that's very kind of you. I haven't found it yet but I will try again tomorrow.
Today was supposed to be dry so I did a couple of loads of laundry which is now all over the place as there's been a very fine rain nearly all day. There was also another mouse, which has been released at some distance, into leaf litter under a bush by a footpath. I will set the trap again tonight... I think they may be getting in from the garden as there's no evidence of them getting at any fluid indoors and they surely need to drink. Puzzling. Unless they are indoor mice and go out to drink? That's more likely.
After a broken sleep last night and the unplanned mouse walk in the morning, I had a snooze before work. On the way home tonight I called into L!dl, which I really didn't need to do, and spent £15.89. In my defence, I had coupons about to expire so I saved a bit, and also got more fruit. At present I'm trying to have a piece of fruit with my cereal at breakfast and am enjoying it a lot. Blueberries, banana and a pear, so far. I had money off grapes and grapefruit so I got some of those and various other things. I think carrots have gone down in price as they are back under 70p a kg. I also bought a 99p bunch of daffs. Last year it was lovely having them blooming in the house around my birthday (not yet!).
Dinner was sausages with onion and mushrooms, and tomorrow I'll probably have the same to finish the packet. The freezer is really full again but I have eleven days to spend some T3sco coupons including 10% off frozen F&V so I need to be deliberate and achieve some turnover of frozen food.
I contacted the family about arranging a get-together for my birthday next month and I think we will go for 22nd, even though that's not my birthday. That lets us make use of the annual passes we all bought last year, just before they expire. It will probably be just before J's baby arrives, so we won't do anything too energetic. I've made it a bit later in the month in the hope of getting nicer weather though the end of February also looks really nice.
Tomorrow I need to be up in time to help with the toddler group so I'd better get to bed.

I really like the daffodils - excellent pence per smile value, especially when flower prices go up for valentines. Always a joy when they open overnight.I wish my MrL vouchers offered any healthy discounts. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Daffs are such fabulous flowers to have in the house at this time of year. A reminder spring really is on the way. I have a blue jug that belonged to my mum and before I met PPH (ex) I used to make sure every Feb I filled it with daffs. I will go back to that. Thank you for the reminder of a joy from my past I can re-discover.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5
