I have yet to go through it Cherry but I did fill out my dad’s booklet from the Alzheimers Society which is something to think about also. Not just in case of dementia. It covers more personal things.
I will have a look at that one too, thanks. There are so many things it would be useful to consider, but which hadn't occurred to me.

PS. Please could you let me know the title? Thanks!

It is so easy to forget something isn't it.  Luckily DS lives with me & knows where it is possible to find a torch in the pitch dark & that any details (as opposed to general accounts) can be found on my computer that is not online.  As he is my inhouse tech guy he can pretty much find his way around anything I have.  Not that he really ever needs to these days but as for that pad thing I had to buy so that I could use my new charge 6 that is totally down to him & I hate the thing.  It has to uninstalled & reinstalled at least twice a week & now it always says recovery.  since Google took over Fitbit it has gone right down the pan.

It's been lovely to have you all drop in today! I hope you all helped yourselves to tea and biscuits.  :)

I'm sure there are always things that people have to find out - possibly because the best laid plans etc... I may well forget to update some stuff in this book so perhaps I ought to go through it every now and then and add a note to say when it was last checked. I've not even received the thing yet!  :D

This morning I did the usual cleaning stint at church and remembered the bits and pieces I had to see to while I was down there. Other than that, I've made no progress on the complaint to Sains, but I was chatting to someone yesterday about the dire state of my phone and they mentioned that they'd had loads running int eh background on theirs. I found I had a browser with 128 open tabs!  :s Once I got all those closed it seems a little more stable, though the problem isn't solved.

Two lots of laundry done and somewhat dried.

I called in at Asd a for some more tins as we'd used several of the ones I bought yesterday. Met the daughter of a former colleague who works there, so we had a quick catch-up.

DH and I had a late lunch: salmon with pasta and sauce, then I rang up about the lifebook.

I also had a message to ring the manager of the teaching assistant job and I've been offered a few days' work starting next week. It's the Maths class again, but the manager says it's more about supporting with reading the questions rather than actual Maths. I've rung the tutor and she's going to give me a lift there and back, after which I'll go straight to my cleaning job - so sachets of coffee and two packed meals seem called for. DH says he'll do me some of the vegetarian chilli for when I land back at home after a just over 12 hour day. I do feel good about being asked, though.

This didn't leave DH and me long for our Friday coffee, so we went to a place near my work which is a bit expensive but they do a good Pumpkin Spice latte. Then I hurried off to work (3 hours, and the same areas I've been doing a lot recently). A lovely clear, freezing night tonight: I stopped in the dark area near our house to admire the stars and imagine I could see the Milky Way as I used to before the light pollution increased. It was a really good night for stars.

My procrastination is generally filled with displacement activities. Does that make me a multi-tasker?

I woke up about half an hour ago, hungry. I didn't feel hungry last night so I missed my usual late-evening snack and have just had it now. I've also put my phones and Kindle on to charge as there's a chance of power cuts later - but that feels odd because it's so still out of doors. The weather forecast says heavy snow, high, gusty winds and heavy rain - then if you look at it in another format, the heavy snow is only light snow. I'll see what we get but I'm making a flask of hot water so I don't have to miss my coffee.

I bought flour yesterday so some baking may happen later. Meanwhile I'm going to try going back to bed.

@Cherryfudge - If you are still doing something, then is is truly procrastination or just re-prioritizing?  Have you ever tried a ta-da list rather than a to-do list, listing what you've accomplished for the day rather than what you wish to do.  I'm always pleasantly surprised just how much I actually get done while trying to avoid eating the big 'frog'!

@rtandon27, I'm afraid in my case it's procrastination, though I do get lots of other stuff done! The intent is to find things I can justify doing, while avoiding what I feel I really ought to be doing. I do, however, love a good Ta Da list!

Today has been an indoor day, planned that way as, by the tine DH woke me at 10 to 10, we had snow that remained a few hours despite steady rain. We hadn't planned well but found there was fish in the freezer for dinner, and later DH went to the shops as the rain stopped and the temperature has gone from below zero to 10 degrees. I made the Christmas cake, which had to be round as I couldn't find my square tins. DH says I had the same issue last year, and I don't need the big tins between Christmases, so it may be something I need to replace eventually.

While searching, I found a 'fancy' baking tin that I've used once. It's still boxed so that can go in the donations. I also threw out a turkey baster that had split.

There's a mini Christmas cake for Auntie, made from a couple of dollops of the main batter. I'll wrap and freeze it to help it mature as DH will be going to visit her soon.

We searched our greetings cards but seem to have used up the stash of ones chosen for DS2, whose birthday is tomorrow, so DH bought one. We found a suitable one for the next birthday along, though, so the stash is still in use.

This evening I measured my hair (the longest it's been) before cutting a couple of inches off. I'd been trying to hold out till nearer Christmas but it was needing attention, so it should look better for the meal out for the birthday, tomorrow. No idea what I'll wear but as it's got warmer, I'll have more choice. I also gave myself a mini facial. My skin doesn't like the very dry air.

I've spent nothing today and DH hasn't spent much.

Today has been nice and mild, though grey. Temperatures in the low teens, which just a few weeks ago would have been cold. Now it feels good.

We finally caught the mouse, so it's as well the weather turned for the better as DH released it in the field up the road. I'm not sure that's far enough away for it not to get back, but we'll see. At least it went somewhere with food and shelter, so I hope it can use them. The last one was a field mouse so I'm assuming this was, and had come in from outside recently.

I watched church online this morning as I was expecting quite a busy day tomorrow and we were out this evening, but I had a call to say the learner I was to support can't be at tomorrow's class, so I get the day off. It means I don't get paid but I'm glad as I need the time to go through the material. There are still a couple of weeks of the course to go, so it's likely I'll go to those.

During the afternoon I mixed the Christmas pudding but there wasn't time to steam it so it's resting overnight. Yesterday's foray into the understairs drawers brought to light some small pudding bowls that I'd forgotten so I'll enjoy using some.

We were out for dinner as it was D's birthday. It was a good meal: as a group of ten we had a long table reserved and to our surprise the parallel table was taken by a family we know: one of the women has been a  friend of mine since our children were babies, our oldest boys have been friends since infancy and some of them came to baby F's party the other week.

N was full of energy and took me on a tour of the restaurant, visiting all four of their Christmas trees and trying to get me to sit on the carpet with her. In one of those conversations you can only have with a two year old, I decided to play her at her own game when she wanted me to sit in a certain place, so I insisted she sit by me. She said no, because there was shampoo on the carpet by me. I said I couldn't sit by her because there was treacle on the carpet by her. I'm not sure that either of us won the argument, but we enjoyed it.

Incidentally, we had an early booking so please don't feel I was annoying diners with my mad grandmother act. DGD chose to do the sitting down in an empty area!

One of the waitresses did us a good group photo in front of a beautiful Christmassy fireplace before we left.

Afterwards it was back to A and H's for D to open his presents and to have birthday cake.

D paid for the meal so we are to pay him back (complicated because he owes us for a meal earlier in the year, which I lost my notes for and only found again the other day). DH paid for drinks today but I think that's all.

Today is bright and sunny, though a bit breezy. Looking at the news and all the storm damage elsewhere, it's amazing we've got off so lightly.

    My list for today:
    • see if there's laundry to be done while the sun shines.
    • look at my work emails and make a start on the maths stuff  :#
    • see if I can finish the course I was on before I cancel the roll-over subscription
    • try to word the complaint I mentioned last week
    • choose what to do with outstanding Clubcard points that expire soon
    • see if there are any photos I want printed
    • check bank accounts
    • put Christmas puddings on to steam
    • go shopping
    • work at five
I think there may be others to add so I'll update as I go along.
