Back in winter stuff for me but today I threw away another fleece/sweatshirt top that was exhausted and not that flattering and a couple of other house items too. The new bedroom looks fab but i am noticing I prefer to sleep in the older part of the house. I will work on why that is over the holiday weekend.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Well after saying the other day I don't really do jewellery, I have the need to wear nice dresses a couple of times in a few weeks when we go away. Dragged out my one and only smart dress which I bought for a wedding 10 years ago and have only worn it 3 times! Then managed to find another in a CS for £3.50 (C*ast). Decided I actually could do with some sort of statement piece round my neck as I don't like showing my neck area off really. I am very much a T shirt and jeans person really. So I did a trawl of CS's in next town and found 3 lovely necklaces for total of £4.50, as well as a lovely pink cardigan (N*xt), a nice long line top to wear over leggings (W*!!is), a lovely sporty tea shirt (Cr*gh*pp*rs), a pashmina and a nice make up bag. Total spent on them was £11. so a bit of a good day to help me feel fab.
First time in ages I'd trawled the CSs, as our local ones are not normally that great. There is a lovely market town with some really good ones about 19 miles away, but it always seems a waste to go there in case I don't find anything, but it is a much nicer town than our local one.Making the debt go down and savings go up

@Makingabobor2. Well done on your charity shop finds!!6

I found a pink cardigan too yesterday in a charity shop, a Tu one for £1 and it very nearly matches the shade of the new pink trainers I just bought. Very happy with that.
The filling went okay yesterday and it was quick and painless. I hope this one stays in. I did feel quite shaky again after, like the last filling I had this year, but she said it was just adrenalin from the injection. I don't remember that happening before, but this was years ago that I last had a filling, probably pre-pandemic.
I wore my rings out on the chain (instead of selling them) and they were fine although it did remind me of my cat I used to have who wore a bell on her collar. I hope I don't need to sneak up on anyone.
I got home and did a face pack, had a hot lavender bath and then put magnesium butter on my feet and then had the worst night sleep I have had in ages! My fitbit said I finally got to sleep at 3.46. I don't know what happened there as I should have been relaxed.

I'm feeling very unfab at the moment, with a runny nose, sore throat and a cough to wake everyone. But sorting out my bedroom, so its more of a boudoir than a dumping ground, has made being ill a little more bearable. I watched Blithe Spirit in bed this evening and loved the silk PJs and long silky dressing gown outfits that were in vogue in the 30's. I've actually got an M&S silky dressing gown - and that does make me feel fab - so I must buy (or make if possible) the silky PJs and the headband to go with it.
I've got some old jewellery (silver) that I need to get rid of so thought I'd ask them about my engagement ring at the same time. Seems they only want to give you scrap money so I'll definitely keep it and think about doing something with it - maybe even lose weight so it fits comfortably again?
Very envious of the charity shop finds, when I was out earlier this week I received compliments on my old charity shop finds. The lavender bath sounds like just what the doctor ordered - I've got some lavender westland epsom salts so I'm going to put those to use."Think of many things, do one"

Could you have the engagement ring made into something else? My mum had her engagement ring and wedding ring made into one gold band with the stone set in. I have it now. It looks like a super modern piece of jewellery and is beautiful. If it where just her old rings they would be in a pot somewhere I'm sure but she had the wonderful idea of making them into something else after she got divorced. She wore it a lot, my sister inherited it but gifted it to me as she never wore it and now I have a stunning ring that I love too and wear often..

Thanks Watty, its a great idea and I've been thinking a bit about this since I saw Floss's photo of the two rings made into one. My engagement ring was always a bit tighter than my wedding band but when I put on three stone it was just too tight to wear. I wasn't sure if it was just weight or whether age had something to do with it - hence thinking of selling. But when I tried it on yesterday it felt a bit looser (I've lost a stone and a half) and as I'm planning to lose another half-stone for summer to feel a bit more fab, I'll wait until then before I decide.
If I do sell, one of our local jewellers sells on commission and I've used their service before. The commission seems quite high, but I think its pretty fair as buyers have reassurance and you don't have to do anything except collect the proceeds. They also put the 'new' price on for people to compare to the second hand price. Its pretty shocking for anything with diamonds unless they are large and a specific cut. Mine are just tiny ones - a little over half a carat, but I'm quite glad as apparently they are a bit like a new car as soon as you drive off the forecourt and instantly lose 30-50% of their value. They do have some fabulous second hand rings though.

@thepurplepixie. How did your visit to the Palace go? It was quite hot here yesterday (in the north of England) which didn’t suit me, so I hope you were cool. Did you manage to sort out your rail travel issues in the end?1
