  • Joyous June Round Up!

    CC: £214.63
    Loan: £233.87
    Joint Savings: £300
    Holiday: £200

Not a bad old month, not sure whether I will be able to keep up that movement on the loan, but that is fine, need to remind myself, marathon not a sprint!

I worked out that I am paying £21.28 a month interest for the loan, it is nice to know that I am knocking it down little by little!

    Weekly PAD round up:

CC: £36.37 (£100 standard to be added)
    Loan: £17.72

CC is now: £1985.38/£2162.22. This is 91.8/100 steps, we now owe £176.84. So tempted to just pay this off, but DH car needs £700 spending on it, so shouldn't get over excited yet! We will see. So this will be gone by the end of August regardless! £100 standard and £76.84 to be added in that time, totally doable.

Loan OP since Oct 2023: £1099.79/£1140.65. Another £40.86 to find, woohoo totally doable as well! Slow and steady, tortoise and the hare, etc etc!

Very wet morning, hoping it will clear as want to go to a local vintage vehicle show. So much effort goes into these local shows and it is awful when bad weather ruins it! We are also going to have a look at a car this afternoon, a peugeot 108, still thinking about selling our peugeot 2008, so this is a lot smaller!

@FacelessNumber it will! I really thought we would struggle to have it gone by December so this is such a boost!

Bought the little car yesterday, it is very, very cute! Hoping the £4k will be a good investment, have used my loan right now to cover, not quite sure how much will need to 'owe' back as we will be selling my bigger car and not sure what we will get for it. Thinking of just WBACing it and being done, so depends on how much they would give us. Hoping around £3k, so we will only need £1k of savings, we can then either add it to the debt list and pay it back or cover it with savings and drop a grand. Not quite sure how to play it yet, but would be nice not to add more debt!

Just updated my car insurance policy, was so easy to do online, didn't even have to speak to anyone! As it was online, no admin fee, and in fact, this car has just saved me £72 for this years insurance, will be refunded in 7 working days, it also came with half a tank of petrol- must remember I now own a petrol car.... so another little bonus!

Already had the refund, came back so fast! Not sure whether to save or send to loan. Just noticed loan end date has changed, it is now 21/01/2028, wow! So close to 2027, and also means I have knocked 8 months off.

    Weekly PAD round up:

    CC: £47.76
    Loan: £101.48

CC is now: £2033.14/£2162.22. This is 94/100 steps, we now owe £129.08. So I am thinking we will carry on sending PADs over until the end of July but just pay whatever is left off outright as it will be less than £100 so will remove the DD then as well. So two more weeks, and this will be gone!

Loan OP since Oct 2023: £1201.27/£1140.65. Really not sure if sending the whole refund over was the best idea, but decided to just go for it! Means I smashed this latest month which feels great. This means we are already £60.62 closer to the next month being paid off. So next total is: £1303.60     £1201.27/£1303.60. Need to find another 102.33 to reach next goal, woohoo!

Keep reminding myself that this is a marathon amount and that I am still having to pay the monthly payment as well as the weightloss injection- this is still going well. Have lost 9.9kgs and appetite is still suppressed at the second dose, keeping on that for another month and will see if I should go up or not. Trying to increase movement and exercise alongside. Have promised myself at least 10,000 steps a day and this has been consistent for two weeks, yesterday, I did 5mins of rowing, with 30second breaks in between, legs were screaming at the end! Did one hillier walk after work which also made my legs tired, but its all good!

DH self employed work brought in another payment so we decided to just pay off the credit card! Have sent over the £129.08 and in a few days it will clear and be amazing!

This feels so so good, when I started this journey, we were thinking it would be a real push to get it done by December this year, shows how much we could reign it in when we started paying attention. So so excited!

    THE CREDIT CARD IS GONE!!!!!!

Had a yearly statement from the mortgage, sad to say that with the increase in costs and extending the years left to keep it more affordable, our interest is eating way more than half of our payments, soul sucking. Have decided to put the £100 standard payment to the mortgage, this way it feels like it hasn't been forgotten, which it has been on and off this year. This will knock £1200 off extra over the year and knock daily interest a penny at a time! Will do more mortgage sums shortly!

Also trying to work out what to do with PADs now, could send to the mortgage, could save generally, save specifically and/or save for holidays. Just not sure yet, there are things I would like to do in the house and garden, so this could be an option.
