    Thanks all

Nothing much to report from yesterday, it was a NSD  today should be as well as I'm on a long shift at work.  After today, I'm off until Monday which I'm very much looking forward to.  Plan is to get the Christmas food shop done (going to go early morning tomorrow I think and do a big stock up, any little bits can then be got at the corner shop as can't face going into a supermarket over the weekend or early next week), finish any last bits of Christmas shopping, meet a friend for lunch and relax the rest of the time

Big Christmas food shop was done on Thursday, spent £2.07 over what I had saved in vouchers so happy with that.  Lots of treats and nibbly things   Will pop up to Lid! at some point today though as we've run out of cheese.

I then met my friend for lunch on Thursday, she treated me which was lovely.  Felt a bit iffy in the afternoon and went for a nap.  Woke up feeling ok but felt pretty awful all day yesterday - just really lethargic and a headache which didn't really shift even with pain killers.  Early bed, slept for 12 hours and have woken up today feeling my usual self.  Not sure what was up with me, maybe just all the work stress catching up with me.

Despite feeling not feeling great yesterday, I got my eye brows done (£18) and then visited my gran to drop off her Christmas present.  I also got my work secret santa present and transferred money to my sister to pay for a joint present for my parents.  Only have 1 present to get now for a friend but I won't see her now until after Christmas so think I will have a look in the sales.  Really pleased with my budgeting for Christmas as still have £36.10 left in the presents fund which will more than cover my friends present.

Today I have dropped OH in town so he can do some shopping.  He's then going to visit a friend so will probably be out until mid-afternoon.  My plan for today is to walk up to Lid!, do some cleaning/laundry and maybe watch a Christmas film.

And I have managed to reach my target of maximising the LISA before the end of December

Thanks INOD, have a lovely christmas too 🎄

£25.50 spent, way more than planned, however, still under the food budget for this month and fridge, freezer and cupboards are all full so should keep us going for a good while.

Haven't seen OH all day, he texted earlier to say that he was going to stay at his friends later and have tea there before heading home.  Meant I changed our planned tea of chicken and mushroom pie to chicken and mushroom risotto as it's one of my favourites but OH is not a fan.

So over work at the moment, ended up having to go in today as someone had called in sick and the night shift staff we had booked for Christmas eve called to say that they've come down with a bug so won't be able to work.  Chances of finding someone now are practically non-existent which means I'll probably have to do it

On the plus side, it was actually a lovely shift today and it's also been a NSD.

Managed to cover the shift tomorrow night  so that's one less thing to stress about.  Finished up work early today to make up for going in yesterday so just chilling with OH this afternoon/evening.  Today has been a NSD

Early shift tomorrow and then off Christmas day

  • I think you and I may have the same job, or very similar jobs at the least. You've got my full sympathies for coping with the endless short notice sickness. I fantasise about stepping down some days too 😁

peacocking - social care?  For the most part, I do love my job but it can be so challenging!

Had a lovely day on Christmas day with OH and just back from a family get-together, lovely weekend seeing everyone but pretty exhausting so off for an early night.
