PollyWollyDoodle said:Ooh yes please, I’ll have a cup. That sounds absolutely idyllic, Pip - only I assume your DH wasn’t wearing a collar and tie and smoking a pipe 😄That’s a lovely pattern, have you made it before? I have nothing on the go at the moment, and I am missing it, but just can’t seem to organise myself to get even a sock on the needles. No, I’ve not made this one, but I probably have shared it before. I started work on the body in September last year. (Again, knitting in the round.) I’d divided for the shoulders and was working on the upper back at the start of November, when my right shoulder started playing up so I had to stop knitting. (I know now, that my shoulder “injury” was invading lymphoma cells.)The long-awaited builder is starting tomorrow on some work in my lounge (when I say long, it’s been ten months since he quoted for the work). This means I’ve had to move all the furniture out and I’ll be spending my evenings in the spare room while he works wonders.Good luck with the building works. Fingers crossed it goes quickly,No excuses, I know where there is some sock wool and a bit of therapeutic knitting is just what I need to calm the nerves while the house is in turmoil.

I like the look of that, @PipneyJane, though I'd imagine it needs a fair amount of concentration. It will be a lovely piece when complete.
I have too many things on the go and nothing moving at present: a jumper for DH that kind of got abandoned, a baby blanket waiting to have backing applied and a toy rabbit...I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

That's a lovely jumper, @PipneyJane. I know it will look great on you, but it's not quite the right shape for me, as a larger lady!
I've slightly lost my knitting and crochet mojo, since the socks and scarf were finished. However, the kitchen is waiting for a coat of paint. I started on Saturday and got about half done, so the rest will be done over this week. I'm having to ration myself or I'll irritate the carpel tunnel problem in my right wrist, but I will get it finished this week! DIY rather than crafts! 😊2025 Fashion on the ration

That jumper has a really nice collar, @PipneyJane- what colour are you knitting it in?
I have finally finished my emerald mohair cardigan- I started it last spring, but realised halfway down the body that I had miscalculated and it all had to be undone back to the yoke and couldn't face that, so put it aside. Midwinter, I picked it up to frog and suddenly realised I was wrong and it's fine! So I picke dup the ripped-out stitches and re-knitted and continued and finished it a few days ago- just been through a cold-rinse so no pics, but I'm pleased- a long snug ribbed waist, fitted but not tight body, and the short sleeves are a lightly-puffed shoulder and ribbed cuff just above the elbow. Dark green velvet ribbon inside the buttonbands, which are crocheted.
The only thing is- highly unusually for me, it is synthetic!!! Someone gave me TEN huge balls of a 1980s synthetic mohair, and I do love the colour so... and it's enabled me to test the pattern after the most recent set of changes

Thank you all re the jumper. @Cherryfudge, it’s deceptive. It’s mainly 2x2 rib, knitted on a larger needle than you’d normally pick for a 4-ply yarn. Once you get the rhythm, you’ll fly through it.
@Laura_Elsewhere the yarn used is WYS Signature Sock in the colourway Blue Raspberry, which is a teal green-blue shade.

Good evening everyone.
Pip, I love it when DH and I sit with the tv off and we are both quietly doing something and can here the clock ticking, it reminds me of when I was young at my Grandmothers house. Also, two years ago, when we had no tv licence we listened to the Proms on the radio, it felt like we were back in time.Regarding, crafting - just like Laura, I have my poncho that I have undone twice still waiting to be. I haven't started it yet because: a) I am doing a cross stitch at the moment, for a change; b) I have been working hard in the garden; c) I have also been reading. I will get back to making it.This weekend just gone DB and DS were with Mum, I'm seeing her next weekend because on Saturday, I went and saw Ralph Fiennes in Macbeth - it was fabulous. Then on Sunday, I went to the Royal Albert Hall and watched Sir Karl Jenkins conduct The Armed Man. He started the afternoon with Amadeus and the played Palladio followed by his new piece - One World. The Armed Man was performed in the second half. We sat in the choir stalls. It was very emotional, the hairs stood up several times. He is performing at six venues - well with seeing.
MrsCD, we have nearly a whole house that needs painting. My plan is to start when I finish working. But I have damaged my rota cuff - so like you I am going to have to be very creative / careful.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

Oh dear - not doing anything! Still trying to get rid of my mother's cardmaking stuff - she could have opened her own shop. And now DS2 has split up with girlfriend of 11 years and has moved back with some furniture, loads of clothes and clutching two snakes and a large tortoise. Have to say the snakes are very well behaved house-guests (i.e., they stay in their vivarium and don't make a noise) while the tortoise makes us laugh with the strange places that she choses to go to sleep. But the place is in absolute chaos right now, while we sort things out - furniture and relationships..Sealed Pot Challenge no 035.
Fashion on the Ration - 27.5/66 ( 5 - shoes, 1.5 - bra, 11.5 - 2 pairs of shoes and another bra, 5- t-shirt, 1.5 yet another bra!) 3 coupons swimming costume.8 -
I think you've got enough on your plate, @CapricornLass. It's sad that things have broken down for your DS. The tortoise sounds fun, though you must walk round with your eyes on the carpet rather than fall over her.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Our younger daughter has a huge 'plastic' tortoise and a small one in her living room! He makes for some interesting conversations with visitors! I think she would happily have a real one.2025 Fashion on the ration

@Gem-gem please colour me green with envy for both your trip to the theatre and to the Royal Albert Hall. I love the RAH. I’ve performed there once as a chorister, as well as attending countless proms and other concerts over the years.
@CapricornLass so sorry to hear about your DS2. Eleven years is a long time. I hope his heart heals and that he doesn’t spend too much time dwelling on the what-might-have-been.
I’ve spent today updating my blog, including posting something that was written last July but never published. A side-effect is that I’ve finally taken a photo of my current project, so I can show you what the sleeves look like as a WIP. Note, they are much more green in real life:
