Hi, I'll be joining in this year as well - and try not to lose track this time!
The reverse couponing idea is very appealing - one of my New Year Resolutions is to actually make stuff with my large stash of fabric, don't think my sewing machine has seen the light of day since August!2024 Fashion on the Ration - 10/66 coupons used

I'm optimistic that in 2024 I shall manage to make things!
I've nearly finished altering a bought dress (changed neckline, removed sleeves, shortened by four inches; just have pockets left to do), and it's really inspiring me to get on and make myself clothes that really fit me and suit me and are right for me!2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:
January (29): winter boots, green trainers, canvas swimming-shoes (15); t-shirt x2 (8); 3m cotton twill (6);
.
2025 second-hand acquisitions (no coupons): None thus far
.
2025 needlework- *Reverse-couponing*:11 coupons :
January: teddybear-lined velvet jacket (11) & hat (0); velvet sleep-mask (0);9 -
I've been making coiled rope baskets for presents this year. I'm sure I can't count any I've already done into 2024's Reverse Coupons, but - there will be more! It's strangely addictive & relaxing. Lots of fabric scraps are being used up gainfully, but do you think I ought to surrender any coupons for the rope itself? Washing line isn't on the list...Angie - GC Mar 25: £253.47/£500: 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 21/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)8

Going to be honest and say I don’t count craft stuff - most haberdashery was free (although in reality probably unobtainable).I’ve just been converting an old t-shirt, too ragged to donate, into re-usable make up remover pads. They’re not things of beauty but nobody is going to see them but me.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.9

Great idea@PollyWollyDoodle, re. the reusable makeup removers. Toweling ones are long and fiddly to dry. Also they would cast less “fluff” into the machine.8

I wonder if it would work to tear or cut the t-shirt into narrow strips and then crochet those into a pad. I might try that next time I have a t-shirt to get rid of!

My favorite cardigan is one I inherited from my father - no one has ever noticed that it buttons the opposite way. I've been wearing it for 17 years and my father had it at least 20 years before that. It is an Izod and may outlast me.9
