I'm in again this year. 6 coupons to carry over from last year, so 72 for the year 😁

I’m in again. Certainly going to need some new summer shoes/sandals, and I’ve been given an M&S voucher - I could, of course, spend it on food but it might be nice to treat myself to something new.  

I realised about a year ago that I was spending more than I needed to in charity shops, just because something is a bargain doesn’t mean I have to buy it!  I might spend New Years Day giving my wardrobe a complete overhaul, there are things I like but just never wear.  

Very generous of you to put your spare coupons in the sugar-bowl @basketcase. I’ll add mine from last year, too.

Count me in for 2024.

I didn't buy any new clothes this year, but I did buy plenty second hand.

To keep my second hand clothes habit under control I am going to use my rolled over coupons for second hand purchases.

I will update my signage in 2024.

Hello, I'm a long time reader of this thread and I would like to join you this year please! 

Despite having not bought anything nice to wear that actually makes me feel good for about a decade, keeping a spending diary for the past couple of months has revealed that I am terrible for spending small amounts on sale 'bargains' that I really buy because they are cheap, often bought online and I'm either too fat for them or I squeeze them on and they do me no favours.

So. This looks the perfect way to limit what I buy, save money, be more sustainable and hopefully have some nice chats along the way.

Hi everyone, could I join please? I'm a newbie on MSE.  I have the Fashion on the Ration book and love the idea of couponing.  Do I start on 66 coupons for the year?  I'm also an avid sewer - Sewing Bee is my favourite programme - having just completed a pair of pjs for my DH.  It'll be interesting to see how many coupons I use when I total my fabric stash that I use in the year.

Welcome, draw up a chair! You don't need to count things you've already bought, in fact @Laura_Elsewhere had the bright idea of trying to reach 66 coupons in terms of making things. A sort of reverse couponing, I suppose. Those of us with stashes of fabric and/or yarn are all aiming to use not buy, but it's harder by far than you can imagine!

I wonder how much of that is a reflection of a) men being able to wear the same suit to work or formal occasions and just a different tie or shirt and nobody caring tuppence whereas women are still expected to wear different oputfits all the time and b) men's clothes being better-made from better-quality fabrics- I was really taken aback when I bought new underpants for my husband to see the difference in the materials and quality of stitching and finish; his last years, whereas when I used to buy ordinary "good quality" briefs the stitching started coming apart after six months and were typically very very thin fabric to begin with.

I'm back again I went over by one coupon in 2023, so I shall try hard to stay within my 66 this year!

I've previously planned to do an additional tally and this year, 2024, I shall try to do it: to keep a note of how much I make from the fabric and wool I already have, and see how many coupons that adds up to over the year, compared to how many coupons I spend on buying clothes....
