Dear Turtles! May I rejoin you? I've been somewhat swept away from the pack by a lot of real life drama, some big things like bereavement but also a long chaotic list of not-so-big-but-totally-draining events...but I have resurfaced from the floodwater (almost literally) with - just about - enough bandwidth I think to take part this month. And boy, do my finances need it - the A for acknowledge may be a bit bruising, but they say bruises need to come out don't they? Lovely to see familiar folk and hello to any I haven't met before. Sending positive thoughts your way Toni's friend, I am glad himself is looking after you! x10

First day back at work today and it was pretty quiet which allowed me to ease in.
In my effort to be healthier, I’ve replaced my morning tea with warm water and lemon, and my evening with herbal tea, and today I didn’t snack between meals because I think too much dairy and overeating upsets my stomach and gives me painful heartburn.Grateful today for waking slowly, for a good first day back at work, for OH and DS having fun at the swimming while I worked, for an easy pre-made meal for dinner, and for fussy DS eating well today.NSD 3NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸11 -
Welcome back @Starlight_at_Sea , glad you feel you are ready to take on your finances.@laura_lau the first thing I would do would be to pay off those 13p 11p and 31p on your cards! That would drive me insane. Funny what steams your noodle, isn't it?Oh @Toni'sfriend sorry it was not better news, hopefully it is caught early and will be dealt with promptly. Hope your DH is feeling better too, and gentle hugs to all the others not feeling up to snuff. Can you still say 'up to snuff'? isn't snuff frowned upon these days? There is a snuff producer on the industrial estate off the bottom of my road, so I know it still exists, snuff is a thing, they mostly sell it online, and the Post Office lady has to process all the little parcels and it does her head in..... I digress.Today I bought some food to fill in the gaps, and to allow me to use up some more pantry-dwellers which have outstayed their welcome. I bought kettle foods for my work at the end of the month, will probably feed me lunches for the week. It was noodles without a pot, 6 for £1. They have gone into my hidey hole to wait for deployment.Soup again for lunch, DH made it, he loved it, that is 3 soups he has made and loved. He still claims not to like soup. After lunch I pulled up all the carpet on the top landing, and down to the middle floor, removed all the nails and staples and cleaned it, then woodworm treatmented it all, just in case.DH made a lovely potato and spinach curry for supper. Lots of veg eaten, some jobs off the list, a little forward motion achieved. Onwards my Spartan Turtles!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Hey all 🌖
Hugs Toni'sFriend and Dawn (supporting your brother). Taking each day as it comes sounds like the best plan. Fast forward - and there will come a point where you will hopefully look back on it all - having faced and overcome challenges... grown in new ways... met new people along the way. Sometimes life can send us down one road that seems on the surface a rock one - only to find we discover treasures along the way that put us on a whole new trajectory.
I had a nice day today and caught with another spiritually minded friend. What a difference. I came away not feeling drained one bit - quite the opposite. It was a really good lesson for me about trying to spend my time with people on the same wavelength.
Had a much better day managing my energy. I went to bed at 23:00 last night, ate breakfast today - and have felt so much more grounded. Zero cravings. Just need to rinse and repeat. Daily habits going well.
Today I am grateful for:
1) Time spent with my friend
2) Starting my new course
3) A lovely letter from Occupational Health @ work
Today was a spend day

I hereby declare a fleet of chaises longues available for all who need one. We don't do the naughty step too much (as turtles can't climb steps!!!) but the chaise longue is there for the worn out/down, poorly, struggling turtles. It is a place to rest and recuperate and be the recipient of TLC.
