eBay won't remove neg fb with buyer lying in their feedback - anything I can do?

Hi folks.
On my personal a/c, had a right numpty purchase a brand new product and had nothing but issues with said buyer.
Story goes said individual purchased an expensive item, had it returned all within a week, and I initiated refund within 15 mins of receiving it. They've left a neg and also the feedback testimony is nothing but lies saying it's taken weeks to receive their refund - this is not possible since they bought it mid December, refunded before Xmas (all said and done within 7 days of purchase). They mentioned the item is faulty yet since having had the item back, it's absolutely fine, working as it should (camera lens).
Altho sent RM SD, it turned up one day late. Something out of my hands yet this was my fault, as if I'm supposed to literally drive to London and physically hand the item over. The item was new/sealed yet the 'issue' was also my fault claiming I sell faulty products to people in the messages but also the feedback he's left. I'll let you in on a secret, I'm not the courier, and I'm also not the manufacturer lol.
I asked eBay if they could remove said feedback and they've said they can't having used the feedback removal request form.
Basically, anything I can do?....I'd like it removed more for the lying comments this individual has left more than anything else. Tia.

Just reply to the feedback with what you've said here and let other customers make their own mind up. If it's just one negative in a sea of positive feedback it won't matter.5

A negative is upsetting, I would sit and fume about one myself. However, a calm reasonable response may well put the buyer themselves in a poor light, if I get offers and have the time I always check out the feedback that a buyer leaves for other sellers- something like that would trigger me to block them immediately.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. eBay reconfirmed by phone call they won't remove the feedback and advised to leave 'constructive' feedback for buyer, despite the fact it can only be 'positive' fb with whatever comment you want to make so I've added as much as I can to his feedback. All of it FACT and kept it as concise as possible.
My fb rating has also gone from 100 to 99% which is annoying but hopefully folk who look to buy from me read the feedback. I've sold a couple of things since he left the feedback so perhaps doesn't make too much of an impact in terms of someone not wanting to buy from me.0 -
OP don’t know if this helps, but if I see an item I want to purchase and the seller has had negative FB I always go and read the comments, and there have been many times where I can tell the buyer is in the wrong not the seller, especially where the seller has left a calm and reasonable response as per Soolins advice, so try not to let it worry you, I think there are many buyers like myself who look at the comments and not just the percentage score.6

Just post a reply to their feedback stating the facts and it'll be obvious that the buyer is a loon. Based on the some of the interactions I've had since I've started selling stuff again, I'd almost be surprised if I checked a seller's feedback and found they hadn't encountered one if these nutters...

I find very often negative feedback says more about the buyer than the seller. I do look at negative feedback and if the seller has put a calm explanation in response it makes me more inclined to buy from them!
there are always oddballs out there3 -
Thanks again all....I've added fb and it is all fact with dates and my interpretation as to what happened etc.
The buyer shouldn't have access to the internet, nevermind eBay.
I've since had a message from him telling me to remove the 'positive' feedback with my take on the story and also my reply to my negative fb is also 'incorrect'. Oh dear!
As both a biz and private seller on two differing a/cs, I've not come across someone as belligerent, threatening and difficult as this nutcase. If anyone wants to know the username, I can message to save you difficulty in future should this be your buyer. Thanks again all.1 -
