Morning all. Happy birthday to pigpen xx
Sorry, the choice of emojis is very limited, so you'll have to imagine the unicorn wearing a party hat and blowing a trumpet!
Yes, I'm here, round, and for once wide awake. Not dressed yet, and only just had breakfast, but actually I've been up for several hours already and have usefully updated my printable pages of Christmas card labels. I have moved quite a lot of people from real to virtual cards next year, to save on postage - but I would never never cut back on my Flylady cards
I'm glad the Secret Santa gifts all appear to have arrived. Somehow I ended up with one too, for which many thanksxx
We had a great day yesterday: breakfast, church, coffee whilst unwrapping presents, Rosie's walk in the weak sunshine, very easy posh lunch, more coffee, snooze, tea and Stollen, drive to DS1's, cuppa, enormous meal for which I did not lift a finger, home, more coffee (all of it is decaff!) and chocs, Call the Midwife, and bed. Just what I needed!
This morning I found a message from K (written late yesterday evening) on my phone, asking could they come on Thursday instead of today as she wasn't feeling well. I have politely declined to have them here any other day this week - I want to be able to prepare for my family's visit without being rushed off my feet and therefore becoming too tired to enjoy their rare company all together. K has agreed to bring the girls here on Monday instead, which suits me well. The chicken for today's cancelled tea has already defrosted so I will throw it in the SC and that means the main course on Monday will be just a defrost and reheat job.
So today I aspire to
- taking Rosie for a walk
- decorating the Christmas cake (which I'd previously taken off my list when time was expected to be short)
- writing 2 thankyou letters (or making phonecalls)
- cooking an easy lunch and tea - no leftovers here yet, but there will be plenty after Friday, and in the meantime there are HM ready-meals in the freezer.
That's about it, really
Enjoy the day, folks, and remember to put your feet up whenever you have the opportunity - we're sooooo worth it! xxx11 -

Round, I've been eating too many chocolates this week, so after seeing The Nutcracker recently, I'm going with one of those ballerina hippos in the Fantasia version.
Shall we get slinky together? xx10 -
iona - absolutely. Just let me wade through these Christmas goodies first....

Hello everyone
Looks like you all had a reasonable Christmas day.
Happy birthday @pigpen
I had a good day yesterday, basically supervised DD and her bloke as they peeled veg, washed up etc.!
Today I've stripped my bed and the sheets etc. are now in the TD.
Need to do the table cloth, napkins and tea towels from yesterday in a minute.
Lunch is picky bits.
Dinner will likely be picky bits too.
Ooh, and I need to do a Mr T order for tomorrow before I forget!
Hope you are all well xxI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Happy birthday Pigpen!I hope the cash turns up very quickly Valli. You've put it somewhere safe so you don't have to worry about it getting mislaid, haven't you.Love my Secret Santa. It's perfect. Thank you so much.We didn't even wake up until gone nine this morning and even then it was just to feed the cats followed my more snoozing until the dog really did have to be let out, and Belovéd trundled her round the block very slowly later. She's got a cast iron bladder although the house-training took much longer than usual, but she's got the message now and that rather suits us when we need a lie in. Breakfast Brunch Lunch was the leftover pigs in blankets, his with chutney, mine with Dijon mustard, after we'd both ambled around for a bit putting things away, so the rest of today is going to be flacidly placid. At some point I'll one of us will hack enough turkey off the carcass to make a couple of turkey and mayo sandwiches but that will be the sum total of action in this house today.Better is good enough.10
