Why should Office 365 ever expire ?

The free version of Office 365 which is online online only (no local install of software) doesn't expire and you can use the free tier of OneDrive for the storage of files generated in the free Office tier.

You then have a full version which is subscription based which does allow you to install the latest version locally and has more OneDrive storage available (and can use local files). There are personal versions and family versions available, but renewal is annual, but is fully supported going forwards.

You license for Office 20XX allows you to install it locally, but is only supported for a certain amount of time, which for 2019 was October 2023 unless you pay for the extended support. In effect it will not get updated and any vulnerabilities when the PC is connected to the internet will be there.

Have you tried using the free version at www.office.com to see if it does what you need. It is a supported version reducing the risk to you and saves you trying to get this local install working.

Or, did you ever follow the original link I put up where you need to ensure the 2019 license is associated with your Microsoft account and then download it and install it that way.
