I have a valid key - but cannot find a legal valid download site (preferably MS)
All that I can find is Office 365
Any suggestions ?

You should be able to do it from your Microsoft account if it is a genuine license connected to your acocunt.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-365/previous-versions/microsoft-office-2019 and the link is bottom right of the web page.

I can not see 2019 mentioned on the webpage

Not even the big text saying "
Download Office 2019
To download and install Office 2019 for a single PC or Mac go to MyAccount."
It is at the bottom of the page on the right.

Except that MS try to install Office 365 (network app) at the same timeWhy do they do that ?I uninstalled 365, leaving just the locally installed and stored 2019

OKAfter rebuilding/refreshing my Win 11 laptop - I discovered an anomaly with Office 2016 (I had an installation on my old replaced laptop and reused the product key) - I ended up with a hybrid version of officeIs this a 365 or 2016 installation ?Despite thinking otherwise - 2019 did not install on my new laptop - only 365 worked from my previous 2019 key"CLICK TO RUN" implies a limited time (1 year) on-line install ....rather than my unlimited paid for version ?

I agree but since I have an Office 2017 and 2019 that I have previously paid for (and previously worked OK) - I am simply trying to use it as a locally based and locally stored utility - this seems extremely difficult to achieve

Office Pro Plus is only available with volume licensing.I assume you bought it from one of those semi-legitimate key sellers, and since then the license holder has identified that your computer is not part of its network and has flagged it to Microsoft for deactivation.2
