Thank you for your help with my Mothers Halifax account Daisy and Brie. Don't care if I name and shame. the company. Vulnerable customers advice was to take her into branch which I did and very difficult it was too, she is very frail, unable to walk, deaf and blind. Once there the branch refused to do anything without passport or driving licence. We have been draining the account. Not able to do so in branch as she does not have ID that they like, only by cash machine! I am trying to have a pension paid into another account with a different bank and we will just empty as much as we can and then leave it. Your loss Halifax, there was a lot of money now safely with a more reasonable bank.
Food I will not use to the food bank.
As for the food bank - stating the obvious - in date and unused please! Too many people donate some astonishing things - have used jars of coffee, opened sugar etc. Some FBs also don't distribute anything with alcohol in it. Where I work it gets passed along to the volunteers who aren't teetotal. Even things like onion soup with red wine in it or similar.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. It seems quite common for banks to enjoy small amounts of abandoned money. My DS has been unable to get £5 from a childhood post office account. The hoops he would have to jump through don't warrant £5 !Brie, I wanted to take it further but my Mum didn’t want to. The stuff for the food bank is vegan burger mix. I bought 2 last week and am not keen. Should be well in date.We have a viewing tomorrow at 10am. The woman wants to dig the garden out to park her camper van. Would definitely not feel guilty about taking plants with me if she buys the house.Out a chipped mug.Vx:16

Glad it's vegan stuff - nice or not. It's one of the niche things that gets overlooked a lot along with gluten free. And you're "not keen" might be someone else's "YUM!"I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. @vulpix it seems such a common issue and I see ridiculous scenarios being played out in columns all the time in The Guardian. I seem to recall one where they insisted the person come in despite being bedbound and would have to take a private ambulance and a nurse with them costing hundreds. the Guardian sorted it for them, but it’s hard to understand why such a situation would ever occur.2025 decluttering: 3,235🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Hello everybody
Well I'm finally posting my first official post for 2024 with targets for the year - only 9 months late.
I have been following along but, like many others here, real life has been taking over - in my case a long time dealing with a neighbour who is particularly "tiresome" (the most polite word I can think of). However nothing on the scale of other posters so giving huge (((HUGS))) to those in need.
My main aims for this year are:
365 items decluttered/frogs dealt with
In particular I have an abundance of nail polishes, hair mousse, cleaning products, beauty face masks, puzzle books, dental floss and dishwasher salt! I would like to make a significant dent in these stockpiles along with a ban on buying clothes this year.
Frogs: chase old work pensions, sell some stuff on Marketplace and fleabay
House maintenance:
Electrics: bathroom - new light fitting, kitchen extractor hood to be fixed
Plumbing: replace external plumbing and replacement shower cubicle
Handyman: lots of little jobs
Building works: roof works, plastering, brickwork
Replace timber windows with double glazed plastic ones
I haven't bought any clothes this year and some items have been decluttered and I will list these on separate posts.
The only reason I am successful in decluttering is all the input from this thread so thank you to all contributors.
Keep going everybody.

Thank you for my medal MrsSD. I just need to keep it in tip top decluttered state now!Tackled a garden frog today with OH. It looks so much better and it took less than an hour to do.
Also did an admin frog and I feel so much better now that it is done.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅12 -
Have to say I had a run in with the same bank with a loan for a vulnerable customer, appalling and took a year to resolve and weekly calls over an hour or two long. And just having ro raise issue with a utility provider threatening court ( not for me) but 4 phone calls and back to first person so emailed and hoping for response.
Dropped cs bag off and posted some vintage items sold. Need to pick up decluttering pace end of the month as other stuff taking much next few weeks.14
