Within 2 minutes of my last post the heavens opened 🌧️ - hard & heavy - sounded like hailstones but only rain 🌧️ Rained on & off for a couple of hours. DH & DSis arrived back with the shopping which I put away immediately. Finally folded & put away the clean laundry 😉 Dinner was chicken fried in butter, the last crop of hg potatoes + shop bought green beans. Wudupa. Forgot to mention that the recycling wheelie bin was emptied - on the correct day 🥳 & the two bags of garden waste were also emptied 🙂
1484 - 1487 Kitchen recycling, 2 newspapers, drinks cans - recycled
1488 Kitchen detritus binned
Floss, a great return on your 1p 😉

WeenancyinAmerica you make me tired seeing all your running about ! If I've gone out once in the day thats enough for me lol, couldn't be doing with coming in and out all the time but I take my hat off to you managing it all with such grace and patience. I was out yesterday and lots of trees now have a tinge of autumn colour beginning at the outer edges. A few days ago there was just the odd leaf. Sad really because we are still waiting on summer. Its really not been a warm or sunny summer for us.

Marpau , thank you. I am such a Luddite I didn’t know about this.Regnbue nice to see you.No idea why there was a power cut but the camper van lady viewing went ahead. Initial feedback was that she liked the property and more to follow, whatever that means. Trouble is they all like it, but not enough to buy it! As you may have all gathered i'm a dooer, and proactive. Once iv'e decided to move it's as if it's already happened. Mentally I have moved on from here already.Had a visit from Liverpool Anne, the afternoon flew by. 😁 I am really enjoying all this meeting up with the declutterati.
WeeNancy, as I was reading your post I thought , you meet yourself coming back, but all you do keeps the brain busy. I think you get old once you stop engaging with life. Saying that, you put me to shame with all you do, in the heat too. I would wilt in that heat and be lay on the floor with the cats!
Daisy I have noticed the trees starting to turn and a nip in the air in the evening, just when we are still waiting for Summer.
I don't intend to do much today once we have done a bit of furniture moving. I have bought a clothes rack from FB which is still in the car.Apparently it is very heavy. It is destined to go to my Mum's house. I was so tired yesterday its move was deferred to today. Mr V is then off to work until tomorrow. I may, potter in the garden and do a bit more on the advent calendar. Oh and washing as it's a nice day, there's always washing isn't there.

I read that article and thought "I would love a fridge that organised" haha.
I did buy some clear boxes for the vegetable section and that has helped with my fridge. I have far too many condiments so I am going to clean and reorganise the fridge today before the shopping arrives later.
I haven't been doing any decluttering at all lately. I still haven't been through my wardrobes or the airing cupboard! I did notice that the hand towels are getting very stiff and ragged so I did buy a new set arriving today and I will use the old ones as cat blankets in their beds for when it gets cold. Not decluttering as such, but repurposing.
My cat just had another seizure today. It seems to be when she is startled. My dog came downstairs quite quietly (for once!) and it set her off. That is the first one she has had in about 6 weeks. I have thought now that I won't go away abroad in October as I want to be available if she gets ill in the cattery. I booked a week in Cornwall instead. I hope we get lucky with the weather.
I am going to have a shower and then go through my airing cupboard.

Friday is a dreary grey day. DH woke me up with a cuppa & we were both up & dressed by 08:45 - waiting for the plumber to arrive. He arrived 09:15 - boiler serviced & still in good working order after 10 years 😊, part ordered to stop overflow + discussed leak from upstairs toilet cistern. A major job so worth waiting until we have the bathroom done. He also recommended someone to do the bathroom renovation - now we have a number to call 🙂 DH & I had a lovely chat with N. He turned 60 this year so had a big holiday - Australia, New Zealand & Kuala Lumpur. He visited his brother in Australia, spent a couple of weeks travelling around New Zealand with his daughter + they spent a few day in Kuala Lumpur which was exceedingly hot & humid but fabulous nevertheless .😊 We also chatted about the veteran (Percy) he has been visiting for years whom he still sees every Friday for a fish’n’chips supper 😊 Percy will be 105 in November & although physically frail he is fully compos mentis 🙂 Having woken up so early, I have been napping on & off all day so have done precisely nothing 😔 DSis went out to to pick up her meds & do a little shopping. DH has also gone out to pick up a parcel & get his hair cut. Both now back.
I though I would post this to stop us dropping off page 1 - will return later to cheerlead 😉

Lovely post daisy_1571 😊
vulpix , fingers crossed that camper van lady’s “more to follow” actually means she will put in an offer 🤞 I seem to remember that the ‘ugly house’ has been taken off the market so presumably you would need to resume house hunting or do you have one waiting in the wings 😉 Hope the weather stayed fine so that you managed to get your laundry finished 😊 How lovely to hear about the visit from Liverpool_Anne 😊
Wednesday2000, your post about lack of decluttering could have been written by me 😉 Are you sure you aren’t hiding in my house 🤣 Sorry to hear about your cat, I hope she is OK now 🙏 Ninja dog might need a bell 😉

It broke a record for today (103F - 39.44C). Went to my knitting class and learned to do Tunisian crochet, then took car to repair shop. While I was there I called a friend to pick me up as we were meeting another Friend of the Library at the bank. When I called her and said her name, the other person waiting for his car recognized her name and that connection I had mentioned to the Library - and said say hello from Larry. It was her hairdresser! This is a town of over 400,000 people! We talked while waiting for her to arrive and then went out to surprise her. She has been seeing him every week for the last twenty plus years (he went to her house during Covid even). Was her mother's hairdresser also. Their hair has always looked perfect. We always send my friend to pick up awards especially when we know pictures will be taken. Went to a fast food place across from the bank to wait for other friend and appointment time. Had a drink to cool off (Diet Coke), as far as I go. Had our appointment but still have a couple more steps to take to finish getting signed up for everything. Went back to the car repair shop and ouch, it is going to be expensive. But they had to order the parts so I need to go back in on Monday and can pay for it then. Will need additional work later in year (new tires - not nearly as bad) plus one other thing that may be almost as expensive. Went home to melt. Ended up working on genealogy instead and then coming on here. Tomorrow the local LDS Church is having a Service Fair and part of it involves doing Family History and as I don't trust them with the computers when left on their own, we are going to go and keep track of the Center. It is only 4 hours. But it is airconditioned. Only 3 more days of over 100F (37.77C) weather then it will go down - they have promised. Sister's house where party is being held on Sunday is air-conditioned thank goodness as where she lives is even hotter (112F, 44.44C today). We need to move stuff in living room to put in new-to-us bookcases, but it is just too hot yet. Then can really concentrate on decluttering living room. City will be coming in a couple of weeks to pick up some big pieces of furniture including old dog house that is falling apart, a couple of beds, old sofa, rolls of carpet. Don't want them to be moving things in this heat either so have put it off temporarily. Wish we could send some of you our summer - but not this heat.17

Wee Nancy if we could do an average of your and our temperatures, we could both have a very nice 28`. Well actually even that is too hot for me. Over 25 and I don't like it! It's a small world isn't it. My parents were once walking along an almost deserted beach in the North of Scotland with the dog.The only other people, another couple with their dog were walking towards them. It was people they knew from home! I love coincidences like that. My biggest mystery was when my cousin was working down South and he was playing pool all night in a pub. The other fella asked where he was from and he said oh a place near Buxton. The guy asked where and then asked Do you know Vulpix? yes she is my cousin. My question ,what was the pool players name? Cousins reply, Oh I never asked him! My reputation goes before me!
Mrs SD, there is a house that I like but haven't considered it previously as it is on a road, not even a B road but a road. I took Mr V for a drive by yesterday and it is not as roady as it seems. The entrance is round the back so off the road and there is a very big wall in between. I imagine the road has changed since the house was built in the 17th Century. I can see that when it was a lane it would have passed by the other side of the building.I would like to reduce the price of our house by 5K but Mr V doesn't want to. He might in a few days now I have planted the seed.I will be reducing the price of my Mum's house by 10k in a couple of weeks. The market here is completely flat. The ugly houses owners ( 2 brothers) think they will do some work on the house and then it will sell for much more. No, it was at the ceiling price for the area already. I think they will be disappointed.
The only thing de cluttered was a can of spray starch palmed off onto Liverpool Anne
Take care all Vx

I was at a recent funeral and got talking to another mourner. The usual how do you know the deceased came up. We were in a tiny caravan park in the middle of nowhere in France with only 1 other caravan on the site so we got talking, he told us. They said where they were from, he was from another local town. They said we know someone from there, name. He said thats my best friend! Lol, half a million people between the 2 towns and they have someone in common. Theyd been friends ever since.
