My heart goes out to you @Siebrie. You really do an amazing job with your daughters and getting on with life generally. I hope there can be some movement with your plans and that your husband will cooperate with what is necessary. He has no right to expect any intimacy! You deserve some happiness in your life. Please do something that is just for you somehow. I know that unable to move feeling and it is awful. It might sound silly but I used to set an alarm on my phone to make me get up and do a small task from a list I had made. It helped me to avoid getting completely frozen at times. Take care ❤️15

Oh Siebrie, I am so sorry. You are amazing in all you do. Move back to your roots as soon as you can. You deserve a lot more than this. You have friends here, your internet village. xxx
Granny Kate, yes change your Estate Agent, they don't sound a good fit at all.
I am still yearning for the bungalow at the other end of town with the amazing location. It must have something very wrong with it to be for sale such a long time. Bungalows are like hen's teeth here and get snapped up. Of course if I bought it ,I would knock just about every wall down to improve the layout. They have put a new bathroom and kitchen in it but that doesn't improve the layout. I fear they have wasted quite a lot of money.
I have realised that you have never seen Fluffy with her eyes open! One year I made calendars for all the kids with pictures of the ridiculous places she chooses to sleep. In the bath, in a paint tray on top of a paint roller etc , etc.
I have crossed off some things on the to do list but added even more so I now have more than I started with. I will endeavor to finish some today. Final coat of paint on the sitting room window sill, final coat of paint on the front door, paint the back door handle black, clean the number and door knocker from the front door and varnish them. That's enough painting for a bit. I hate painting.
Forgot to mention, I binned about half of the DIY things in my old ice cream tub. Over the years I have amassed a lot of screws, bits of door handles etc. I do use them, mended a bird box with them yesterday but Mr V hates them as he says they are so cheap they are made of cheese so you can't use a screw driver on them easily.
I really would like my step son to visit but he has selfishly found himself a girlfriend! You just can't help some people can you? hahaha

I've finally decluttered DS2s guitar, which has been languishing in my home for 11 months. The bonus for him is that I got £160 for it, which is more than he was expecting 😊2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

That is horrible for you Siebrie.xxx
I know what people mean about bungalows having a bad layout or having something wrong with them. The only ones I can find online in Broadstairs that I like are too expensive for our budget. We really need to have a good walk round the area when we go there in July.

Good Afternoon everyone Been absent for a few weeks as we were doing the NC500 around Scotland. I managed to do plenty of digital decluttering instead 😊Been back home for 10 days but have been looking after my poorly cat which had cancer. Noticed such a difference when I got home.I had been keeping him in but on Thursday I don’t know how he got out. Luckily a woman a street away phoned me up. He looked so poorly I took him to the vets in the afternoon and had him put to sleep. So very hard but I owe it to him to do the right thing by him. So to take my mind off this I have managed the following:
Digital emails deleted 1133
Paper, cards, clothes beyond repair, broken dog toys 98 =1231 total now 4504
Right off to do some more. Going to try to stick to just one area to start with.2025 Decluttering 9127⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hello everyone. I’ve been very very low recently, life dragging me down and I feel as though I am in stuck mode. Little things never used to bother me but now everything is an effort. My NET nurse said I may have to have my treatment increased from 28 days to 21 days and what with waiting for scan results and blood results and being utterly fatigued I’ve more or less given up.
My 2 big frogs are STILL ongoing- 1 step forward and 4 back.
Decluttering has def taken a back seat and I feel very lazy and useless and panicky.
please can someone give me a kick up the bum? Sorry to bring the thread down…⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

That sounds hard @Muddy_Walker I’m not sure that I want to give you a kick up the bum though, not with all that you are dealing with. Fatigue is fatigue and you can’t magic energy up unfortunately so how about treating yourself very kindly, as you would someone else, and not calling yourself lazy or useless. It’s not surprising that you feel anxious with the treatment and all the unknowns. When my husband was very ill there was some good support available but I don’t know if that is still the case. With what energy you do have, perhaps you could try to direct it at self care as much as possible. At something that you love to do, or experience, or be treated too. I can’t help feeling that decluttering should be very low on the priorities for the moment. You aren’t bringing the thread down - perish the thought- we know that life throws lots at us and upsets the best laid plans. Take care of yourself and come and talk here whenever you feel you want to ❤️15

Perhaps inspired by the weather, I have had a sort through of the umbrellas. It’s the South West so I have lots! One hit the bin as its handle had gone sticky and another is on its last legs/spokes but survived the cull. Another requires a spot of glue for the ferrule to be reattached. Otherwise, we are all set for a British summer!
I have mended a favourite summer dress which has been waiting quite a few years now. It’s at least wearable again.I also had a sort out under the utility room sink. So many old toothbrushes! I have kept them all but will be more lavish in my use of them. The cleaning products that I have inherited from other people are going down nicely as I have stopped buying any, preferring natural alternatives. I am unfortunately very likely to get another load donated to me in the near future. I must find a willing recipient.15 -
Hi chums oh dear we all seem to be making time at the moment don't owe. Its dry but very breezy here in north Kent so not really the weather for going far I was going to take myself out for a walk around the local country park but we have so many hold ups at the moment with heavy traffic going through the town which isn't really built for it (thee Junction five on M2 is closed so my little town gets all the motorway traffic diverted with people trying to get to Sittingbourne. plus not a lot of [oint shopping for much as I am still waiting for the date for moving and have worked my cupboards down to around 4-5 days dinners and food stuff as I don't want to buy stuff then have to pack it:)
Just hoovered the two spare empty bedrooms and the top landing and hard brushed the stair carpet DD is coming at some point next with her super duper stair attachment to give it a good hoovering (or should I say Sharking as she has a Shark vacuum)
packed another 4 boxes this morning and now down to the barest minimum and feel like I'm camping in my housethe walls are all bare of photos and pictures and all the kitchen cupboards are empty apart from on small shelf with essentials on the freezer is almost empty will defrost it at some point this week for the new people as I am leaving my washing machine and fridge freezer in situ for them.
Not a great deal to do apart from watch TV or read (i've three paperbacks as yet unread0 the rest of the books I'm taking are packed away.
So a state of limbo is in my house at the moment
My dear sis-in-law, who is very unwell, had her tumour removed last Friday at Guys Hospital in London but I can't even visit her yet as she is in the high dependancy part, and I don't want to give her my sniffly slight cold. All the nurses say is she is as well as can be expectedso its a bit worrying.
But I'm hoping they have got it all out, and she recovers, and later this summer I will drive up from the Island and take her back for some rest and recuperation fingers crossed.
Now its become overcast again and started a bit of a drizzly rain, typical bank holiday weather I do feel for the resorts that rely on the summer visitors to earn their cash for the winter.
Oh well another day tomorrow and it will be Tuesday so coffee morning at Dobbies at least that will be nice to see my friends for the morning
Take care all almost June I hope we get some sunshine soon
JackieO xx

Sorry to hear @Siebrie, sending virtual hugs.
Sorry to also hear @Muddy_Walker. I lost my cat November before last suddenly and miss her like mad, despite her quirks.
I've 2 baking trays going in the bin as they have finally had it and 6 in that I found for a next to nothing in Sainsbury's.
The double pack of roasting trays at £3.85 each, so picked up 2, plus 2 smaller 20cm trays at £2.40 each.
All medium gauge, am well impressed, especially as I was and am tempted to get more, but am resisting.
Plus an ice pack/ice board that was on offer for £1.66.Decluttering campaign 2023
