thank you GP. Yes the grandchild enjoyed themselves despite losing both games by a considerable margin. We sat on a park bench and chatted about the game before ambling home and having a cup of tea and a biscuit. I talked with them about goal kicks, corners and tackling as well as team work, helping team mates and showing support for each other. Ironically they then said I didn't think you would know so much about football I thought grandad would know. Hopefully that viewpoint has been nipped in the bud 🤦♀️

@Greying_Pilgrim - I tend to use the post for 'care' packages more than letters or cards. During the pandemic, a handwritten note with a bar of chocolate was a nice way to brighten my colleagues day and became a bit of a round robin for work well done. I suppose it was the equivalent of making someone a coffee or a communal Fika break in the kitchenette over banana bread or some other home made goodie. Even using stamps for care packages, I'll never get through all the ones I've got in the house! So the postal service still has it's uses and they even pick up from the house, which came in especially useful over this past winter when the weather was too glum most days to venture out!

Good Evening MFW'rs
A reasonable day. Much achieved. Although I think I need to get my crayons out, the costs of cards 😱 I admit, I did use the local little shop - but still.
The small load of washing that was a bit of a mish mash of things has just come in. Bone dry thankfully.
I spent this morning making lentil meatballs and spicy green lentil burgers. I put them in the freezer, whilst I made a red sweet pepper tomato sauce (which used one of the jars of roasted sweet peppers that I purchased the other week from fArmf00ds). I did put milled flaxseed (made up into a flax 'egg') in both the meatball and the burger recipe.
We had lentil balls for tea. DH and I had them with some of the red pepper sauce, boiled rice and broccoli. LG had their spaghetti twirled in the pepper sauce, and the lentil balls put on top, and some broccoli on the side. We all had a sprinkling of toasted sunflower seeds on top. There were 6 lentil balls spare, and they have stayed in the freezer for another day. There is a pot of pepper sauce left over. And there was a pot of green lentils spare too - so that went in the freezer for another day. The mix for the lentil burgers made 8 and a small sausage. I cooked the lentil balls that we ate in the frying pan to begin with, to brown, and then finished them off in the oven to cook through.
Yoghurt and a banana was for pud.
Not a NSD, but we've remembered a couple of chums, and we've got some future meals covered.

How spicy are the green emotions burgers?
I had an odds and sods wash on today! 😊 All the stuff that I wear on the weekend for gardening so never ends up getting washed … 😳😂

Actually KajiKita I don't think they are spicy at all. I didn't use tamari (didn't have any), but isn't that more salty than spicey? i've just written them up as Green Lentil burgers in my recipe index. I don't think they are spicy at all - there's no real heat, unless you're heavy handed with with ginger?

I forgot to add that I have amended my non-food expenditure siggie figgie, following todays mahoosive spends.
I haven't spent anything on groceries, which is something, but I hardly feel virtuous ☹️
