Good evening MFW'rs
A good day all round.
LG has finally loosened a tooth enough so that it's come out. The Tooth Fairy will have to be summoned this evening.
DH has had confirmation that his MRI hasn't shown up anything untoward - which is fab, although I hope he follows up with the consultant, as whilst it's maybe not one thing (for which we are, of course, grateful), it is clearly something.
The weather has made everything seem better.
Tea was a salad plate. I used some of the YS'd lettuce leaves, Pugilese beetroot salad, carrot orange salad, Easy white bean salad, and Edamame Salad which was based on THIS recipe, but I just ran it through some giant cous cous. I did boil the (frozen) edamame first and let them cool. I topped it off with some of the BBQ corn and sweet potato falafel that i got from MrL several weeks ago. The edamame recipe is a keeper (in it's original form and my adaption), and the white bean recipe is lovely - my inspiration for that was seeing it on the menu as a veggie option, in a Spanish restaurant when we were on holiday. The recipe that I used tonight worked well, and I had everything in for it - although I didn't have red onions, I just quick pickled an 'Easter' shallot. I will keep the white bean recipe. I shan't keep the carrot recipe I followed. I picked it, as it just mentioned oranges and carrots as being in the recipe, and that it was vegan. I'll happily use vegan recipes, but I don't automatically equate them with 'oil-free' recipes. This recipe used a 'flax egg' - I have ground flax (but actually used chia seed) - and I didn't twig that it was the oil it was replacing. For me, it did nothing to enhance the salad, so I wouldn't use that recipe again. Having said that though, I did use up the two remaining small easy peelers to make the salad, so it was worthwhile doing. The Falafel were nice - the barbecue taste was good. But I'm not sure I would have bought them full price - there were only 10 small falafel in the pack.
I kept in budget (with a tiny bit leftover) with shopping today. DH came home from work a different way, and was home at the usual time - roadworks have been adding 20 minutes to his journey home ☹️
Ta for popping in. Appreciated.

^ I have just edited ^ the above post, I linked to a Japanese inspired version of the Edamame Bean salad, instead of the 'basic' salad I actually used (and had copied into my recipe index previously), and which I then ran through some giant cous cous. Apologies - but I've corrected it now, to the recipe I used.

Good news for DH. Though as you say it would be good to find out what is actually going on.

MRI result is good. Hopefully further investigations will help find out what is going on.

great looking picture of dinner 😊. And nice re MRI. Hopefully ruling out worse case scenarios will help work out what is going on.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5 -

Good Afternoon MFW'rs
Now, don't no one keel over in astonishment, right. But I have actually downloaded the MrL+ app 😱 I've worked out how to use it (gosh, I'm such a luddite), and I've even managed to get the icon to a easily findable spot on my phone - go me! I'm not sure all the bells & whistles on it are going to be for me, but I am peed orf now that MrL have changed their offers - much like other supermercados before them - to needing to have the app to access. I think I find the PoTW type offers for app holders the most annoying. S6 and PoTW were the mainstay offers - open to all, for years, and I think it's a pity that has changed. But I also couldn't bring myself to pay 50p more for greek week tahini, just because I didn't have the app……..
Can anyone that uses the app enlighten me about the 'free' bits and pieces. I know you have to spend a certain amount to reach each offer, but as an introductory offer (?) I can claim a veg and i can claim a bakery item, when I spend £5. Is that £5 on anything? or does it have to be £5 in bakery products, £5 in the veg aisle? Sorry to be so dim.
In other news, the weather is glorious.
Tea tonight will be pizza and wedges - although I suspect that may be a shape mis-representation, as I'll probably use the baby tatties that came in the MrL box. Apple crumble and ice cream to follow, using the last of the apples collected from various 'free please take' boxes in the autumn.
Right, I've pizza dough to make. Ta for popping in.

OK Your offers last for 7 days from the time you click on them to accept them.
Cash offers are usually like other supermarkets, no alcohol, babymilk etc.
You can spend the £ on usual groceries not especially veg,, bakery etc.
Usually with an offer you will see a small symbol on the right hand side and if you click on it it will give you more details, eg. with the free veg click on it and it will tell you what is included.
Normally the free ones start on the first of the month, so your first one in May will be bakery by spending £10 followed by veg. at £50
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.4 -
Woohoo - you have an app - go you! Very impressed with your achievement GP xxx

Thanks Grumplestiltskin - that is super helpful. I think (because they are an introductory voucher), I have 14 days with the £5/veg one - but I understand what you mean when it becomes the 'ladder of cumulative spend' over a month. And good, that is fair enough about the no alcohol/baby milk spends etc - fair like other supermercados T's & C's.
I should be able to bag at least my veg offer with what I have left in my budget/should need before the month's end.
Thanks so much for taking the time to post - I greatly appreciate it.
