Good Morning MFW'rs
Well, I don't know the specific label, but it would appear LG has something along the lines of 'norovirus'. They ate a couple of small fingers of pizza last night, and against my better judgement, I let them help themselves to a couple more.... of course they chose the biggest pieces...... half an hour later the pizza was back with us in the room........ 🤮 Thankfully LG was first in the vicinity of the sink and then equally luckily (because DH was disinfecting the sink) the sick bowl........
At least they've slept the night through, and this morning, they have already drunk plenty of water, ate a dry piece of toast and a small piece of apple. Fingers crossed they keep it all down....... Whatever this bug is, it's knocked them sideways ☹️And in effect knocked out at least 4 days - possibly 5 - of the holiday ☹️If this is the bug that is going round (ladybird mentioned it), then it's blooming typical LG picked it up when school was done - they could quite easily have missed 5 days of school at the end of this summer term, and missed nothing of import ☹️
Today, we won't be moving from the home base - and we'll gauge how well anything eaten remains in the normal transit route. Regrettably a playdate that was tentatively re-scheduled for tomorrow will have to be cancelled, as even if LG is on the mend, we always adhere to the 48hr rule (it's amazing how many people don't), but in this case, there is someone in the household who is extremely ill, and they could really suffer if they picked up anything from LG. I wouldn't wish this illness on any potential enemy, never mind chums and their families.
In other news, I did make a pizza yesterday. Just cheese and tomato - but Detroit style. I actually remembered to put the original pizza sheet in the oven first, so that the base of the pizza was crispier. It did also help with the rise, so I will do that as standard in the future. I did a couple of small tatties as baked potatoes for DH and I. There were 3 pizza slices left that have gone into the freezer.
I was going to do qu0rn fricasse and rice for tea. I may still do that, but I don't know if LG will be up to eating something like that.
At least we could snag a nsd today, so silver linings and all that. Oh, Watty, a film day was had yesterday - including 'Lyle, Lyle, cr0c0d1le', which I didn't realise was a film of a book. But it was engaging and entertained LG on their sick bed.

Oh dear, sorry to hear about LG. At least the illness has shown itself now and hopefully will start to be (forcefully) removed from the body. I hope LG is feeling much better soon. Plenty of time to reschedule the play date still.

newgirly - thanks for your well wishes. Fingers crossed we're through the worst.
tmv - no recipe - but I use the SC. Put a base of onion, celery and garlic - sometimes chopped, sometimes blitzed to a puree - in the SC, with a splodge of olive oil. Add the condensed mushroom soup, a teaspoon of dijon mustard, add half a stock cube, some boiling water and/or white wine (don't have to use wine, it's just the first time I made it, I made it at Christmas), and the qu0rn pieces (i use the whole bag for 3 people). Cook on low for a minimum of 4hrs. If I have any frozen veg (MrS frozen mix is a good one, size wise), I add it in approx 1 hr before the end of cooking. I check that the 'sauce' is not too thick, and thin it out with water if necessary. Towards the end of cooking I add in some herbs (normally dried for me, but fresh would work well), and season if necessary.
I've served it with pasta and basmati. If you had tasty baked tatties, it would be ace to smother one with the fricasse.

It certainly sounds like the dreaded Norovirus ,if it is LG will be wiped out for a few day yet
A group of us (average age 75 ) all went down like ninepins after our group meeting in March ,we traced it to someone who had been ill the night before but felt fine that morning,so came to our meeting !
The only one who didn’t get it had arrived late so hadn’t hugged /shaken hands with anyoneAll had different timescales of recovery and the men all took longer than the ladies! It is one of the most infectious/ contagious bugs there is ,be prepared for a few days wiped out even after the symptoms subside5 -
Oh Suffolksue that is awful.
I hope we're doing enough to stop transfer between us as a family even, but I couldn't in all conscience let LG mix with others, specifically those that we know are already unwell, and vulnerable. Norovirus (or whatever incarnation LG has) is deceptive, as despite the constant stomach ache (which seemed to vary in intensity), LG has felt 'better' at times, and S & D has been 2 distinct stages. LG certainly talked about going out to places in the last few days. Whether that was 'misguided youthfulness', or whether it was because they felt more 'human' at times, I'm not sure. But I have always tried to be responsible with hygiene and 48hrs rule.

Good morning MFW'rs
Bravo England Women's football team - what a great success, a real team effort and team celebration. So wonderful to see, and something of a rarity in 'team' anything......
We're bobbling along here. LG is still feeling under the weather, although has now eaten a little and kept it down. I can't work out if I'm going down with the same. I've lost my appetite, got a slight pain in the abdomen area and feel washed out. I didn't make fricasse for tea last night - it would have been a waste. LG had rice and a veggie sausage chopped up, DH had a veggie sausage sandwich and I had nowt. DH is getting anxious about work, I'm getting anxious about the holidays slipping away - and how that will be worse if I become ill and LG is moping about. We're a right crew ☹️
Ho blessed hum.
I'm hopeful we can at least get out of the house today - somehow. I have zero intention of going anywhere where there are people, but surely we might feel better if we just see some different scenery?
