Good Morning MFW'rs
Another late night with the footy, but pleased it didn't go to penalties.
Thanks rt - I've woken up this morning (thankfully seem to have slept the night through), and the ache on my thigh is much, much less, but the hip/lower back pain is slightly more prominent this morning - but not a sharp, searing pain, so possibly I've just moved to a different stage. But I should imagine that it will serve me well to still try to nurse my movements, as I want to continue on the healing route, and it does seem better when I'm moving, rather than getting up from sitting/lying down.
LG has finally got up, but is instantly asking 'what are we doing today?'. They naturally would like another day 'messing about in boats' 😁but I'm thinking we need to pace ourselves a little - from an excitement, cash and petrol use perspective.
Final club session of the summer term tonight. There seems to be a bit of an anomaly of dates, as previous club leaders have been happy to run operations in holiday times - which has pluses and minuses I think.
Right, better go and peg the overnight wash out, and plot and plan the day.
Ta for your support and for popping in. Appreciated, as ever.

Good morning MFW'rs
Lawks, we're not even at the end of the first week of the school holidays yet, and things have de-railed a bit, the diary has already started to be left, expectations to be entertained every minute of every day have ramped up and every request to do something is met with 'I don't want to' or ''But I'm tired....' from LG. It wasn't supposed to be like this.
Ho hum.
It's just a stage, it will pass.........
DH is dreadfully unhappy at work (with just cause) and is carrying that negativity in a backpack 24/7 too, so that isn't helping.
Ho hum.
We walked into Greying Town yesterday morning and checked bank balances and then printed out a HM thank you card at the library. We then popped to take our lunch to a different set of views. There was a picnic table, and a parking spot , The wasps joined us, yet again, but at least they were just curious, took a look and buzzed lazily away, they didn't dive bomb heads, like the wasps were doing the other day. Then when we got home LG wrote out the 'thank you' bit of the card and we popped it to the post office to post.
Last club session went well, and LG enjoyed playing with the other kiddos - they don't all go to the same school, which helps immensely with socialisation I think.
Today I have set the whites wash on. I'm not too sure if the polo tops are worth laundering, of whether I should ditch them. They have been ruined by sunscreen, but LG usually requires sunscreen for the first few weeks of the new term - which would wreck any 'new' polo shirts too. Decisions, decisions.
We currently have a couple of sentences of the diary completed. Considering we did so much on Wednesday, this is going to be a loooonnnngggg process, although we have printed off some pictures to add to the diary entry, so it needed be as drawn out as LG is making it.
At the moment, I'm planning on burger baps and wedges for tea, although that may change - we've no pizza in the house, so I may be better off knocking up some dough. I had erroneously thought that the footie final was tomorrow - good job DH mentioned it's Sunday. As it's an earlier kick-off, I am thinking of making qu0rn fricasse in the SC. Although I haven't got any condensed mushroom soup or white wine, so will have to rectify that.
Right, I'll pootle off. LG has at least started writing something in their diary, so we have to capitalise on that I suppose......

Sorry to hear about your back Greying, and Mr GP's work woes, and LG's Terrible Crushing Boredom with all the activities you are drumming up for their holidays 🧐😂 Sounds like some fun is being had, and some evidence is being produced!
Your talk of diaries reminds me of a letter I had many years ago from a young relative. I won't attempt the spellings, but it goes something along the lines of
'Dear Cheery, the fish died on Sunday we went to church and then came home and buried the fish them mum fell off the step and hurt her ankle and we had to put frozen peas on it...' and on and on with such a tale that I could just imagine the day their poor mother was having 😂😂 I found it recently when clearing out a drawer and it made me laugh out loud 😂7 -

Cheery - thank you, you made me laugh. Currently I would settle for one long sentence that covered an entire day's worth of activities
Cherryfudge - thank you. Gratefully accepted
So we went to MrL, MrS and hB. It was mostly for alcohol (not all for me I hasten to add!!). But we hadn't got any beer in and sometimes a cold beer is nice. I found some lower alcohol (0ld Sp3ckl3d hen session) in MrL for £8.50 for 10 x 440ml cans and then h0bgoblin session was on special in MrS for £8. That will take us to the end of July and beyond, so I don't begrudge getting both boxes today. I did buy some school clothes in MrS, but that comes from the CHB. I did get a bottle of white wine in MrL, plus some of the avocados from the PoTW. I noticed that there were some £1.50 boxes as I was being served. As we went past them on the way out, there would have been one that would have just about been of value (all the boxes were a clear mix of fruit and veg). But with full hands, I would have had to go back to the car, and then gone back in store. There were only 2 tills on, and the queues were a mile deep with the majority of customers having very full trolleys. Remind me of my cavalier approach when I'm down to my last tuppence on the 30th and we've nowt to put on a sandwich.......... In total I spent £27.04 on a little food and some alcohol.
hB have inflatable 2 seater canoes and inflatable paddle boards for sale. £69.99 and £99.99 respectively. I'm feeling blessed that I managed to just get out of the store with the tinned soup I went in for, on account of I made the mistake of pointing out the canoe to LG....... I'm pretty sure hB is still the cheapest place for Batch3l0rs condensed soups, but I noticed that they've increased by 10p and are now 89p a can.
I'm hopeful that we can go and take our sandwiches out for a drive again. I've somewhere in mind. I have pegged out the whites and there is a smalls wash on the go now. We're a little more up to date with the diary. We've still to put in yesterday's events - which don't need a massive record, but can at some point have a photo added from our lunchtime expedition. I just wish LG would get into the groove with little and often - it'll pay dividends when more onerous homework challenges start to present themselves, which may not be too far in the offing if school have their way.
Right, off to find something to pop in a snap pail and call lunch.......
Thanks for your support, hopefully I'm done whingeing for today.

HI GP, Just wanted to give you the heads up that on the lidl app they are doing a promotion for kids for free tickets to various sporting activities/clubs across the country, they can get to try out things like, tennis, basketball, karate etc. Might be something that sparks interest for your son and gets to meet other children that aren't from his school.5
-
Thanks pwps - I shall have a look into that. I know one of the local sports teams are holding activity sessions at their venue (actually the promo flyer is on the MrL door as you go in), but I'm not sure if they are doing July only sessions. I see according to the website, the app promotion is until October, so there is scope.
At the mo we're on pause as LG felt nauseaus earlier and now they are sleeping on the couch. I'm not sure whether to worry. This is the second time in 3 days that they've felt unwell, although the first time could be attributed to eating too much dessert. But it could also be a fact of life. I know from personal experience that nausea can be a side-line of peri and meno, so anytime your hormones are rising, lowering or generally buggering about, seems to have knock-on effects on the rest of the body. There ain't no doubt that LG is growing and changing at the mo, so it could be linked - or it could be that they've picked something up too.
