Mmm, jury's out, as I ended up taking LG to the Drs as they said the symptoms were getting worse, and LG isn't normally one for complaining. Whilst the symptoms didn't entirely match, I did wonder about the onset of appendicitis - as that can get serious quickly. At least the Dr said it was one of the things they were checking for too - so i didn't feel a complete chump. But the advice is to keep hydrated, don't worry about whether LG eats or not, and 'wait and see'. All very odd, but fingers crossed it's one of those things. I was worried because of Wednesday's episode too, it wasn't just an isolated 'tummy pain'. I wouldn't wish ill-health on anyone, but surely it can't just be me that feels like I'm wasting the Drs time - but you can only go on what your child is saying to you, can't you? Plus LG refusing anything to eat at lunch-time, plus having to turn down an impromptu play date that arose this afternoon, points to LG really not feeling well.
Ho hum.
None the wiser now what's for tea, as I've not prepped anything.

Thanks tmv - it's all very odd, as LG had no reason to complain of feeling sick when they woke up (ie no school to wag off), and the fact that they passed up lunch, specifically lunch out and about - and then the offer of a play date, points to it all being 'legit'.
I've settled for Lentil dhal and rice for LG for tea, and they can portion out how much they want. I'm also making potato and chickpea curry for DH and I to accompany. The dhal has got ginger in it, which the Dr suggested for LG so we'll see what happens.

Not wanting to worry you GP, but is it likely LG swallowed any water while messing about in boats? Hopefully it’s just a standard tummy bug, but if you do end up going back to the Dr, might be worth mentioning the aquatic activities, just in case.

tmv - yes LG did tell the Dr about messing about in boats, and yes, it crossed my mind - maybe Wednesday's feeling poorly was unconnected, as it was (possibly) "too soon" after being in the water. But yes, of course it could be an issue - as whilst LG didn't 'fall in' as such, there are many ways that bugs and nasties can transfer. Thanks for mentioning it, because there is no doubt that it's an unusual set of symptoms (for LG), so the water may well be the source of the problem - and the Dr may not have 'heard' the canoeing reference?
I have to say, of course you can come for tea, but it seems to me that your planned evening is mucho more interesting than ours 😁

I was given aspirin in hospital - blood thinners (they obviously can't read) & then some for when I came out with no paperwork. The district nurse told me I shouldn't be taking it, do I have any ginger biscuits. If so eat those. I do not need blood thinners, if I !!!!!! myself I bleed like a stuck pig & my stomach does not like aspirin, ibuprofen for other reasons. I now keep ginger bisuits in just because.3

Good morning MFW'rs
A dreich start to the day - I'm glad I got some washing done yesterday now, although I'm pondering when I'll be able to get the workwear washed and dried. Think I best pop the wash on and then hope for some dry spells. We've a breeze, so that helps.
LG is still feeling 'poorly', but DH hit upon an idea last night that might explain things. DH wondered whether, in playing at club - or even from being in the canoe - LG has strained some abdominal muscle? The pain this morning is still in the same place (no movement to set the appendicitis alarm bells ringing), and there has been no 'product' (from either end), which is making some sort of bug possibly less likely (never say never though). LG hasn't - to our knowledge - pulled a muscle before, so hasn't really any idea what it feels like, (they couldn't, for instance, understand how my sciatic nerve had tweaked, the resulting pain, and the ongoing -although thankfully dulling - pain of that). They did get some sleep last night, although it was elusive to start with, but then they had had several hours sleep in the day. They seem to have inherited DH's propensity for being a bit of a 'dramatic' patient............ 🙄
There was dhal, curry and a bit of rice left over from tea last night, so that has gone into the freezer. LG ate like a bird, but to be fair, they didn't put much on their plate, and didn't eat it all. The Dr said not eating is fine, but they need to take on board fluids - we're working on that.
Unless anything changes today, and anyone else falls ill, or gets worse, I will plan on pizza and wedges for tea. At least if LG still doesn't feel so hungry, pizza can be frozen - it's more difficult with wraps, which was going to be my other weekend choice.
Right, best start setting a wash in motion, and shift-a-tail-feather.

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3
