thanks for the comments. I’m doubly proud because she wanted to train as a dietitian when leaving school, didn’t get on the course, did a related degree, went to work and saved for a bit (while living in a shared house!) and went back to Uni. She came home to do that as the Uni were doing remote teaching and i thought living in student accommodation, fairly isolated, would not be a good idea. Plus, while she was doing the course I had my cancer diagnosis so she’s been lumbered with supporting me, too. And taking me in to hospital when i fell and dislocated my shoulder!
Slow day yesterday. Sewed up baby Esme’s cardi…just needs buttons. Started sleeve of baby Adelaide’s cardi.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Your daughter sounds like a lovely person and very determined too @Valli. Congratulations to her 🎉
I am plodding rather than being intentionally slow, however the healthy eating (bar the creme egg!) has been paying off and I started to feel better yesterday. It’s been great having a fridge full of the fruit and vegetables required for all meals. I have also introduced daily hemp seeds to my oats and smoothies. New to me but they are apparently high in protein so hopefully a helpful addition. I have been taking advantage of any dry spells for line drying the washing; I absolutely love pegging it out and seeing it fluttering in the breeze. GC visiting today so I shall have my slow time afterwards with a book! Otherwise, it will be old fashioned play time in the garden and possibly the park, with maybe a walk. It depends on how the weather holds and what people are up for.@Florafauna - well done on getting your summer dress made ahead of the season. I have some Liberty Tana lawn to turn into a dress but cannot seem to choose a pattern. It was the same story last year!I hope that you are nose in book and enjoying your cruise @Brie
@Cherryfudge - well done on starting the couch to 5K again.@Wednesday2000 - hopefully your recovery day will leave you feeling restored this morning.4 -
Warning. If you are ever on Saga cruise relaxing after dinner and they announce the northern lights are visible don't get between the rampaging crinkles and the observation deck!!! Not only do you not want to be trampled to death but you don't want to be oh-ing and ah-ing at the sky while others are using flash photography to try and capture the event. Yesterday was not a slow day…I did some outside jobs while it was dry, including turning and moving the contents of a half-full compost bin, pegged out washing (i too love to get washing out on the line even though I have a TD), making a roast dinner and ironing!
I am at my part time job today, and I will be going to the Outswim cancer session later - it’s free.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Hello Slowsters
Just back from a lovely dinner at friend's house, relaxed chatting. Out for tea with my sewing class tomorrow before our lesson which will be fun.
Work very busy but OK and at each stressful moment, I think oh well I'm leaving at the end of the year which is greatly cheering.
Sleep well everyone and have a good day tomorrow6 -
I've been awol as I decided to visit a relative - I had a lovely time, lots of relaxing, dog walking, and chatting but I'm glad to be back in my own space as always 😁
I'm having a relaxing day today after yesterday's travelling; I've been on a walk, prepared dinner, had a smoothie, done asana practice and done laundry so now I'm catching up on threads and doing some writing.
I've got lots to do in the garden over the next few weeks- I bought a lemon verbena plant which I am going to grow alongside chamomile in a 'tea' bed, I have raspberries to plant, beds to weed and lots of sowing to do - I'm really looking forward to it! Dd is going to help me on Thursday with the weeding as there is a lot to do which will mean that by the end of the long weekend I should have everything up to date.
@Florafauna - I'm glad your new swimsuits are working for you, love the idea of the ducks in the pool!! 🥰😁 We'll need to see fancy scarf #2 when it's finished 😉 I'm pleased you're enjoying the Shakespeare and Hathaway.
@Valli - I'm glad you enjoyed your swimming, getting out in less 'made for winter' clothes is always cheering, hopefully we'll soon be able to do it regularly 🤞 Easy dinners are always good - I will be doing my menu plan today and intend to plough through more freezer stuff! I hope the car was okay and the garage sorted whatever needed doing 🤞 your description of mousegate made me laugh!! 😂 congratulations to your dd on her achievement!! 🥳🙌 good luck with the cardi knitting 😁
@Moorviews - sorry you're feeling a bit yucky, hopefully it will clear soon 🤞 I'm glad you had a nice time with your friends 😁 I hope your neighbours roof gets done quickly! 😳 thankfully, when I got home yesterday my neighbours job had been completed- scaffolding has been removed too so I managed to miss the worst of it! 🙌 I don't have a link for tofu but I'll have a mooch for one and post it once I find a decent one 😉 I hope you had a lovely time with your GC 🥰
@Cherryfudge - I'm so sorry you've been poorly 😔 hopefully you're feeling better now 🤞 well done on getting garden stuff done - I've a lot to catch up on at the moment! 😳 Unfortunately, I don't know whether the ivy laundry detergent is any good for sensitive skin as dh and I don't have it - I am really glad I've started making it though, it works as well as shop bought on darks (I'm not using it on whites) and obviously is very frugal and environmentally friendly 😀 I'm glad that you're finding a daily commitment useful - it's all about doing things that nourish your sense of self and bring you joy 😊 good luck with the C25k!!
@mrs_slapshot - I'm glad you had a nice time with your friends and hope that you are fully recovered now. I hope your son is settling in well and that you're getting used to the peace and quiet! 😀
@Brie - I hope you're enjoying your cruise 😊 I was very annoyed for you when you though the library was fake - I'm so glad you found the books in the end!! I'm glad you got to see the northern lights without succumbing to bodily harm!! 😳
@Wednesday2000 - I hope you enjoyed London 😊 £20 for a meditation gong bath seems expensive to me too 🤔 might be worth it though and at least it will be a new experience...
@Smudgeismydog - well done on starting some garden stuff 🙌 I hope your time with your friends and your time away are lovely 😁
@weenancyinAmerica - It wouldn't be not having books on a cruise that would make me crazy - he cruise itself would achieve that....I don't do water!! 😳
@Floss - I hope you got to see the lights and that you enjoyed gala night too 😁

I went for another run this morning, this time with DH. The speed I go, it's definitely a slow activity!
I think of myself as a runner, not a racer.
We were enjoying a bit of sunshine and wondering how many daffodils there are in Yorkshire.
DH cooked salmon with potato wedges and a fry up of peppers and cherry tomatoes and some green beans to use them up. Nice (and healthy). He's now varnishing a dining chair (second coat) so we will have one smart chair and three tatty ones. I've also been remembering to feed the houseplants: I'm trying to do it regularly.
And I thought you'd like to hear that the greengages are blossoming. We had to cut one severely back (we can't reach it otherwise) so there's less blossom this year but hopefully that will even out next year.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

@Cherryfudge - I love greengages! I made flavoured gin with them a couple of years ago and added the fruit I used in a mixed fruit jam once I'd bottled the gin 😋
@Moorviews - try the following link for tofu - it's very similar to how I make it:
