leftatthetrafficlights said:@Cherryfudge - I love greengages! I made flavoured gin with them a couple of years ago and added the fruit I used in a mixed fruit jam once I'd bottled the gin 😋I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Greengages…now that’s a fruit i’ve never eaten…not sure i’ve even seen one. And me a keen jammer!
Nice quiet day today. been for a walk though, so that’s good.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

@Cherryfudge - I must admit that we almost didn't have enough for the gin as dh was munching them out of the bag as we walked home from foraging them!! 😂
@Valli - I hadn't seen them for years but then a couple of years ago we were walking a different route with the dogs and stumbled across them 😁 I'm glad you had a quiet day and managed to get out for a walk 😊
Today I'm off to see some puppies!! 🥰 one of the dogs of people that dd cleans for had puppies a few weeks ago and I'm going to visit them today - I've been getting weekly photos and videos and I've fallen in love with one of them!! 😍 I'm not having him as dh really doesn't want a dog and I've had horrendous times with losing three out of five of my previous dogs at very young ages so can't put myself through the trauma again 😢 however, that doesn't stop me having puppy cuddles!! 😍😁
I'm meeting up with a relative for a coffee afterwards then picking up my grandbaby from school for a sleepover so I've got a busy day ahead but filled with things that bring me joy 😊
Dinner is sorted already so no cooking required (I made a banana blossom pasta sauce yesterday while I was cooking last night's dinner) and the house is clean so I can get out for a walk and do asana practice before I leave for my puppy adventure! 😁

Enjoy your day @leftatthetrafficlights and thank you for the link for making tofu 😊
I bought greengages last year at one of the big supermarkets. They were very sweet and delicious. I really wish that I had planted one when we came here - it would have been in full production by now!5 -
Morning all, you have me wanting a greeengag tree now. Maybe I could plant one at the new house. Back to swimming tonight as pool is open after it's monthly swim. Also buying some Easter mice as one of the lifeguards children has made some for sale. Gave in my official resignation letter yesterday at work so it's all very real now. Working till end of academic year.
Enjoy your day all xxx6 -
morning all. Off to my p/t job later but a nice slow start to the day with coffee in bed.
Hope everyone has a gentle day xDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

We’ve been away in Honiton the last 2 nights, heading back home later today. Yesterday we went to the Donkey Sanctuary and walked down to the beach, where we strolled along the shore looking for fossils and then tried skimming stones. I was rubbish, but it was so lovely. I found sitting on a rock listening to the waves crashing very therapeutic.
I’m going to do my best to keep this sense of calm that I’m currently feeling.

I haven't had a greengage in decades. My neighbour had a greengage tree in her garden when I lived with my Mum. They are kind of like green plums, if I remember rightly.
I am a bit stresed out as my cat has to have a heart scan tomorrow as she had a seizure the other night. My other cat had a heart problem and lasted two more years on medications so I'm hoping it will be the same for her. She is going to be 14 this year and my other cat lasted until almost 20 years old.
My other cat is going to be 17 this year and my dog 13 so they are all getting on in years!
I'm about to have a magnesium salt bath and then just get back into clean pyjamas and read my new library book. It is sunny here, but it feels a bit chilly so I might put the heating on for a while.
I'm going to have fresh fruit for breakfast and I'm trying to eat soya every day as it is meant to be very effective with perimenopause so I have been looking at tofu recipes online. I think someone on here mentioned gochujang paste so I might buy that in my next shop. I went through a phase of buying that paste to cook with and having kimchi as well.6 -
@Wednesday2000 - Hugs for taking your cat for the heart scan. It is really hard when a furry one has problems as they can't tell you what is wrong - and you can't reassure them either. Will be thinking about you and your furry friend.5
