Looks like a good deal for E7 users with EDF pulling their cheap night rates.
With the caveat stay on top of UW billing.0 -

Very much this, it's what's currently holding me back from pressing the "switch" button. My wife keeps reminding me just how much hassle UW were with their constant pestering, not to mention their less than stellar customer service.

I used to be with UW for electricity. when things were running smoothly there were no issues, but at soon as I needed their customer service to act on a problem it all went to carp and never recovered - I ended up with an Ombudsman case against them, in the course of which even the investigating officer from the EO said that their billing appeared to be designed to baffle customers so they wouldn't know whether it was correct or not. Oh - and don't try to make a manual payment to your energy account either - that will be money you will never see again!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

My worst customer service experience with UW was bizarre. I had a direct debit problem, they had massively increased it whilst I was still in credit, with the credit balance building every month. I eventually got through to a lady who proceeded to treat me as if I was a child. After some minutes of me trying to explain my concern, but getting nowhere, I asked if my complaint could be escalated.Next person I spoke with started off on the same tack, treating me like a dimwit. When I started to get a bit cross with her, and told her that if they carried on with this DD increase I'd be in credit for more than the cost of the whole year's bills within a couple of months, she went a bit quiet for a few seconds, then asked me to confirm my name and address again. All then became clear, she told me that I had been automatically (and incorrectly) marked on their system as a "vulnerable customer, dementia". That explained why I was being treated like an imbecile by them, at least. To their credit she cleared that off their system, checked and confirmed that I was already over-paying the DD, and that there would be no further increase.Does illustrate that their customer service can be a bit of a shambles.0

Cheap energy abismal service.1

Perhaps we should try and put a monetary value on customer service. Not sure how to value an hour wasted on the phone, plus the blood pressure elevating stress of dealing with people that haven't a clue. Got to be worth something, though, hasn't it?
