De Install Bedroom Wardrobe, Is this Cam Lock Fitting Type...

There is no real strength needed. All the cam locks need is twisting one quarter turn anti clockwise and it will release the hold on the pin. The side with the pin will then just slide away from the piece with the cam lock in. As said previously there may well be glued in dowels as well in the same direction as the pins which would make that a bit more difficult but a good kick / thump should release them. All I ever use is a fairly large flat blade screwdriver that fits firmly in one of the pair of slots.2

I have quarter turned 2nd cam lock, though once last 4/5 are turned, I'll be left with complete section of wardrobe to
be removed from main section.
Thanks anyway, after '23 I'm going to avoid most strength type tasks.Replenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500 since returned to 1gb0 -
To disassemble a wardrobe you really need to have it on its back or side or have another person to help. The panels are usually too big to take apart in the upright position.

My preferred tool for disassembly of flat pack furniture is a lump hammer.2

It's going to cost 1-2 hrs labour, wardrobe is still fully built, though what can be done by tradesperson, needs to be this job.molerat said:To disassemble a wardrobe you really need to have it on its back or side or have another person to help. If the units are reusable, you could try "free - buyer dismantled...".
If you are trying to slacken a shelf fitted between two fixed sides, it ain't going to work. Once you undo these fitting, you need to be able to knock the sides away from these cams.2 -
Almost all Ikea stuff uses these, have a look at the instructions for building a Billy bookcase and reverse the process. The screws are holding the adjacent side panel on, not anything above it.

Funny as you tube comments on that fixing used for shelfs, maybe for bottom 3 doors, though I think after earlier mishap, looks like they clamp around metal screw type connection, which joins to double section.
