It’s unlikely to be forged .  The appeal was  probably  done by  the true keeper of the vehicle - with the same name as you .
Unless they've deliberately used my name in the appeal letter to try and pass off the problem, as they have also used my name to register the vehicle?

Not sure if this has already been discussed - but is it feasible that someone has the same name as you and it’s all just a case of DVLA messing up and identifying the wrong John Smith ?

The easiest way is to prove you never lived at the address of the driver/rk by way of your credit files.

Your credit file will show where you have lived for x number of years

Hello, I checked my credit report just now, and even though I have been at my present address since 2017 and have all my online purchase records on email (paypal/amazon/ebay/etc) saying this address. It seems my credit report hasn't updated my address record until 2019, I think I remember changing my bank details as soon as i moved here, and im confident I registered with the housing association too so they should have my record of address. Don't know why the credit report says 2019 though unless it is relying on credit checks as reference dates or something.
  • Just been on the phone to the housing association to ask for a letter of date of moving in, they're calling me back at some point.
