    Details here https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/diesel-particulate-filters-guidance-note/diesel-particulate-filters#legal-requirements-and-the-mot-test

tl;dr "Removal of a DPF will almost invariably contravene these requirements, making the vehicle illegal for road use".
They don't remove the DPF though, just the innards. So when the tester inspects the vehicle, it looks normal, providing they are ok with any emissions.

  • My 5008 had an emissions fault the adblue tank pump stopped.
While waiting for it to be fixed it needed a mot, agh I thought.
    1st  mot 0.01 reading.
    2nd mot 0.02
    3rd  mot 0.01
4th. mot 0.00 reading, with adblue system not working.
    Lower reading without adblue ?

Why are people so unable to answer a question and stick to the subject?

I have a Ford Kuga that has ISA and without any bongs or noises it slows the car down and then speeds up again according to gps and traffic signs
I can override it with a flick of a button on the steering wheel if it gets it wrong which it does 10% of the time but living in a city where speed limit goes from 30 to 20 and back again every 2 minutes I love it

its an aid. It doesn’t replace me concentrating as some people have suggested above and frees me up to concentrate on other hazards like kids and cyclists and drivers looking at their touchscreen to turn their heated seat on etc

I now won’t buy a car without it and like the OP I came to this thread hoping to find out which makes/models have this fitted.  The new EU regulations which most manufacturers are adopting in the UK allow 4 types of ISA and slowing the car automatically is only one of them

Probably the most annoying is the new Renault scenic e-tech - an EV with decent range and a good price. In the EU the car will automatically slow down as I’d like.  In the UK according to their brochure this won’t be fitted. According to a local dealer I’ll be able to turn it on.   I don’t trust him so today I’ll drive to another dealer to get a second opinion.  It would just be easier if there were some sort of database - I get some people hate ISA - but some of us love it and want a particular feature - and it’s a pain to track down

We have an ISA on our Ford Puma. A couple of months ago, the switches on the left of the steering wheel failed, leaving us without an ISA. My son and I found it difficult to control our speed, having relied upon ISA for two years. My son and I love ISA, while my wife and father-in-law hate it. We find that it is 95% accurate. We soon get to learn about zones where it gets the speed wrong.

I explained this feature to two Ford salespeople and a Ford service manager. Awareness is very low. Be careful that the feature is included in any car you buy and get it in writing.
I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".

Do you learn that when you receive a Notice of Intended Prosecution?

LOL no I just know my area. I’m quite used to where the car gets it wrong now.  One thing that’s going to have to change in the next few years is signage needs to improve and they need to find a way of cars not reading the signs on side roads.  If they can’t work that out then self driving cars are a definite no
