orange billing

Options
I am sure that I read somewhere on this forum that orange is now charging you if you do not pay by direct debit, but I can't find it. Can someone explain what that is all about?

I called orange cs today to switch off my voicemail and at the end of the call the rep asked me if I knew that I am now liable to pay an admin fee for not paying my bill by DD. I was so shocked to hear that.

What is that all about?

Anyone else had this experience?

Mine's been on a credit card continuous authority mandate all the time. There have been a couple of hiccups when they wanted me to switch to DD and kept sending forms to old address, but someone in the Exec Office sorted it out. I won't be surprised if it happens again by the sound of it

I have since read my contract over and over and can't find anywhere that says that I have to pay a fee for not paying by DD.

Whats the problem with paying DD ?

other than the obvious , like you dont have , or cant get a bank account.

Orange send you a bill weeks before they take the money

I have no problem paying by DD, but nine out of ten times orange sends an incorrect bill and I spend ages on the phone trying to sort it out and usually I have to pay it all and then get a refund. I think my money works better for me (interest wise) in my account than volleying back and fort between orange's and mine.

been with them 15months, only 1 bill to querie as they gave me picture messaging for a month free, but left it on there.

If you go to Kavos and run up a £372 phone bill and really don't want to pay it all in one go you don't want to have a DD setup
