Question this with your bank. Tell them you have the receipt showing £6 and need them to immediately credit your account with the £1.50 they took extra. Tell them you have been "financially disadvantaged" by their error not just to the tune of £1.50 but for the fact that you have had to use phone credit and valuable time to rectify something that should not have happened. With luck you'll get enough on a bung to pay for that shopping.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. If I was Poundland (& I'm not) I would tell the OP it's not my problem and they need to talk to the bank. The OP has nothing from Poundland saying that £7.50 should be paid so what is there for Poundland to rectify?la531983 said:Or, just go back into the shop and rectify it?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. He has a receipt timed 10.41 for £6 and a Chase transaction timed 10.42 for £7.50, quite clearly its the same transaction and they have cocked up at the till. Not quite sure how given the tills and payment systems are linked in there, its not like in smaller shops where the operator has to key in the amount to come off the card on a separate machine.Brie said:

OP, you have a clear audit trail so I am confident it will be resolved fast. I really don't think there's any malicious intent here, its an innocent mistake. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Very curious ... I've not come across something like this before and I have worked both on tills in retail and development of EPOS computer systems. The Chase system would only receive the total payment.
Should we all be checking our Poundland / Chase receipts now?0 -
... but I don't see how a paid transaction could be altered and how it could be a one-off 'mistake'. How did you find out about the discrepancy OP? ... it was a couple of weeks ago.@Rosa_Damascena said:

Either there's a gremlin in the system, or there is a programme glitch, or possibly both. Either way, it will take hom sap to investigate and troubleshoot.dealyboy said:

Is this how an opt-in charity donation would appear?2
