ASB - hope it went went well this afternoon.Roundtuit - as I may have got you your first plumbing job I hope you will be giving me commission. Not much flying today. A had a telephone appointment with the GP this morning so I had to wait in for that. The end result was a prescription for one thing and a face-to-face appointment on Wednesday afternoon to discuss his vascular problems and his hip, which a recent x-ray prior to a knee surgeon appointment incidentally showed that his hip was pretty bad. He is now in a lot of pain with it so it really does need something doing I think. I have my flu vaccination an hour before at the surgery so it will save having two trips. After the GP had phoned I popped to the shops for a few things and collected the prescription from the chemist. Came back and made lunch and washed up. Read a little bit, made A a cup of tea and warmed up a mince pie, and made a coffee for myself. Read a bit, made supper, washed up again and and now it's time for the final eye drops, set the table for A's breakfast and that's it.10

Beautiful, Valli.I hope it went well, ASB.Postie has mine too, Natty.Wren has decided she doesn't want to go out into the scary outside world because of meeting about 600 Santas on a fun run yesterday and having to take a detour around a section of the course, and today, well, she just thinks cold, wind and rain aren't attractive so why bother to go outside? She does have amazing bladder and sphincter control but there comes a time when a dogs got to do what a dogs got to do. I'm hoping she's bright enough to work out she really does have to go outside at some point but with this particular dog I'm not confident. I had hoped we were well past carpet scrubbing except for emergencies. Rain isn't an emergency. She's a spaniel for goodness sake. They're supposed to like water.Busy day. Bit of dusting, bit of vacuuming, bit of handwashing of muddy gardening gloves, bit of prepping supper because I knew I'd be tired by now and I am, bit of mopping out the bottom of the fridge before it overflows (a first for me, generally I know it's too late because there's a river flowing across the floor), bit of ice creaming making (salted caramel!) with a whoopsied pint of cream and whoopsied yoghurt and a couple of jars of salted caramel spread that have been hanging around far, far too long. 11 x 250ml boxes in the freezer. Very happy with that.Tried a Lid1 Deluxe All Butter mince pie this evening. Less than half a teaspoon of mincemeat in pastry that was about half an inch thick all round. Won't be bothering with them again.Better is good enough.10

Morning all. Hope you're well today.
I'm up early again as I have another day out today, this time with nearly DiL and DGD1. Will try to fly before we leave. At the very least, I'd like to freshen the sofa covers and change bedding.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.11 -
Morning ladies
Thank you for the well wishes. It was okay, back again in 8 weeks time when they will make a decision re. further surgery. Journey was tough but I was proud of myself for doing it.Lots to do again today, feeling jittery but will just get on with it. Cockerels going to their new home, phew, 7 less bird mouths to feed! That will be 36 less than 2 weeks ago, definitely the right decision for my pocket and my sanity!Speaking of which @Diz@Dizzy_Imp did you manage to sell the pups?Right need to shufty DD along & have a really quick shower, have fab days all xx13 -
Banking sorted. Low spend December is proving quite difficult, everything is so expensive. Sofa covers freshened.Spend less now, work less later.12

Morning all
Well done ASB x
And Round sorting out the facts from what your brain is telling you is a very sensible thing to do.
We have heating!! It's amazing, and has made me appreciate the fact that we can afford to keep the house warm. Car into garage for Mot and service today, short but unpleasant drive to get there and back.
One load of washing over airer, another load in. DW to empty but DH can do that. Good day at the paid stuff yesterday, hope that continues.
Néed to get ready for the day. Have a good Tuesday all x.12 -
Morning my lovelies xx
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch, eaten breakfast and supped a brew. Oh yes, and I've repressurised the boiler again.
The thing is: if I don't repressurise it but ask for a call out, all the plumber will do is come in, repressurise it, and leave. And they won't come out if the boiler is working. So... I've learned how to repressurise it, I've learned how to circumnavigate the thermoregulator problem (don't turn the tap or shower full on and it doesn't trigger that error code). And eventually the boiler will do something that I can't fix and maybe then they'll do something about it. I didn't even freak when I saw the red light this morning- just went in, repressurised it, and carried on. 🙃
Back to the paid stuff. Picking up Phlebotomy calls today for the first time since I kicked off about lack of understanding and training. We now have both, but my confidence was so knocked that I feel a bit sick about trying again. At the same time there's so much else going on that I'm ready to say Blow it and log off if I get any grief. And breathe.....
I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I set off.
Have a good day

Thank you Honey Bear11 -
Hope it goes well today @roundtuit and @Valli
@Honey_Bear I have a spaniel who is also reluctant to go out when it's pouring with rain unless you have a lead in your hand then she's trying to dig her way out of the front door!
I'm up, dressed, breakfasted, bed made, and Mr T order finalised ready for tomorrow's delivery.
DS pootled off to the station for the 6.30am train as he supposed to go to London for work today but the trains are shafted on the Weymouth-Waterloo line due to emergency track repairs so he promptly turned round and came back again. As he lives next door and is not a particularly good cook, he has lunch and dinner with me here (yes, he pays his way!) so I need to rethink today's lunch which was supposed to be just me.
My drug dealer is due to drop off my repeat prescription today that I ordered over the weekend.
Today I will:- Start to think seriously about Christmas. The kids are nagging me for a Christmas present list and I need to think about food/recipes for the two family gatherings I'm hosting this year - a buffet thing on Saturday before Christmas and Christmas day lunch itself.
- Regarding Christmas lunch, once I've decided what we're having, I need to phone my Christmas order through to my lovely butcher so he can reserve it all for me.
- Prepare a Christmas card list and source Christmas cards to write and post.
- I need to try the forum recommended hacks on the wood burner door seal before I light it
- Clean the bathroom as per today's list.
