Looks like an electronic control unit thingy, and presumably it clipped it beside the other one?
It's all a bit pants right enough - I guess the WM received a slightly bigger than expected thunk, but for that to come loose, well...
I guess I'd accept it, but then I'd be able to confirm that nothing was actually visibly-physically damaged.
    No idea what to suggest.
  • Yeh. I don't know what to do and maybe I'll have to leave it to the plumber to ask what he thinks but I reported it anyway.

So long as it's not broken/ actually damaged then apart from that it looks ok but I don't know why it wouldn't be screwed on to the machine and just sits on there loosely.

I don't know if it's just an issue with transport in general or that transport company, but as I said when we got the fridge freezer, twice with the same company it was damaged in transport, third time it was a refurb and either damaged in transport or  shipped with broken ice maker/ cracked internally.

I mean it may have been as simple as them carrying it horizontally but yeh not ideal.

I didn't really ask the place I bought it from what they suggested and just said to send the photo over so I sent them and the screenshot of the chat. I guess if anything is wrong/ goes wrong I have told them and hopefully covered.

It is supposed to have a 5 year warranty as well that I thought was for parts and labour but says 2 year p + l warranty in the info with the machine/ 10 year parts only on registration after those 2 years.

Appreciate your thoughts anyway and hope it isn't a big issue and needs to go back.
  • That part won't be 'loose' - if not actually screwed, it should at least be clipped into place.
Clips are more common, as it makes it quick and easy to replace. But, loose? No.

Ok thanks. See I don't know if it was clipped back in or just hung like it slides into a recess with those semi circular appendages but I guess you mean it should have additional clips and shouldn't be loose at all.

I didn't know washing machines didn't have a panel on the bottom tbh but guess you're saying it isn't right and should have been more secure than to be able to fall like that?

I mean it looks like it has holes where screws could or should go on the photo so I'm a bit paranoid that it may not be right and think if that happened what happens when it is spinning and there's more vibration.
  • Yes, I saw what looked like screw holes too, but that's not to say they are used. Whatever method is used, it clearly shouldn't fall out, regardless of which way up the machine is turned. It should be secure.
  • Ok appreciate it. I haven't seen any loose clips or anything on the floor and don't know if it will affect the functioning of the machine otherwise if they aren't there.

My mum wants to wait until the plumber sees it and was like "stop faffing" about it which I guess is what it's called talking to someone about it on here. Lol.

It's going to be in my own anyway when the plumber comes so in order for him to look I'll have to tip it up and move it where the old one is.

Just can't believe the luck again really, especially when I'm pretty indecisive about things due to anxiety issues and unsure what to do for the best.

I mean I'd like to keep it if it's ok and won't affect it as returning and rearranging everything especially round this time of year would be an actual faff.
