I think you need a complete rethink even on relatively small spends.

Moth repellant, never bought any, have you gone through the procedures here?

    Thermal underwear, Primark?
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.

well done on this diary !  - take your point re some of the costs in London, I did an eye wobble at £60 for haircut, I spend more like £30 out in the wilds but can definitely cost much more where you are

  • @Grumpelstiltskin I had a Primark thermal top and found it a bit rubbish, hence replacing with a slightly nicer, thicker one (M&S).

Noted re: the moths... I have done a lot of those steps, but I get a bit paranoid because I have a lot of good wool/cashmere knitwear that I don't want getting eaten. :/

  • @Flugelhorn It is a lot, isn't it... luckily I can keep my ends in good condition, so I only really need a cut once a year.

I have to admit that I can't wear wool knitwear and seeing as the majority of my clothes come from charity shops I don't have a problem.
I am also lucky that I have a factory shop near me who sell M & S thermal underwear with the labels cut out so much cheaper.

Most of my clothes are charity shop bargains too :) I'm just an awkward size so finding replacement items would be a massive pain!

Reading your diary entries I am not convinced that your spending is really uber control yet. Some of the spends are definitely 'wants' and not 'needs'.

It would be useful to see a SOA to appreciate your financial situation and the steps you are taking to reduce your debt and remodel your spending patterns.
