My expenditure for 2/12/23
Not a great day, and an example of why I'm forcing myself to confront my spending!- Public transport - £7.75
- Weekly food shop - £43.40
- Haircut - £60.50
- Coffee and pastry - £6.70
- New book - £25.25
- Sewing thread - £2.49
- Takeaway - £20.37
I am also on the no-spend December thread. Hopefully today should be a no-spend day - and so should Mon, Tues, and Fri, as I'll be working from home. On my office days, I will bring in coffee and lunch from home to save any meal deal spends.

Even if they don't always have everything you want, you can perhaps put up with that until you are debt-free.I could cook several good quality meals for £20.37. Cooking yourself and not having takeaways is a fairly painless way to save money. Now again and again it's fine of course, and perhaps this was not something you do regularly.I'm not lecturing you, by the way - I'm just trying to give some constructive criticism of your expenditure to be helpful. Feel free to tell me to mind my own business though - I shan't be offended.1 -

The silly thing is that I do have a library membership... and I currently have several books out, waiting to be read...
Husband and I currently have takeaway probably twice a month. We are in London, so the takeaways are also extra expensive which isn't great. Would like to knock this down to once a month (once every other month would be even better!). We've never tried fakeaways but we do like cooking, so this could be a fun activity.

I am a reformed shopping addict. I read voraciously and much prefer owning books to using a library; I buy at charity shops, second hand on Amazon marketplace or used from wob.com where you can often get 4 for the price of 3. The latter gives you the option of re-selling if you want to, although I donate them to a charity shop.0

My expenditure for 4/12/23
I was quite productive today, listed some items on Vinted and decluttered a drawer (I need to join the decluttering thread for 2024). I've sold two Vinted items for £7 each so far.- Pet food - £8.42
- Amazon order (rather random - some replacement makeup sponges and a glue residue remover) - £10.44
