Cynergy Bank - IT Issues. Cant access their website. Is it just me?

Tried to access their website to Login. NO success, no matter what browser, what desktop pc (I have more than one), what operating system. Yet I can access all other websites from every computer.
Called customer services and their response was basically "Its your problem, we're up and running, clear your cashe, put cynergybank.co.uk on your safe list."
I've tried everything I can think of, rebooted everything, and searched the web for a solution.
Nothing works.
No response from Cynergy, although, after many phone calls, its now with "their IT department"
Is anyone else having this problem?
Has anyone managed to fix it/suggest how to fix it?
I have a 2 year bond with this "bank". I am now VERY concerned.

It's OK for me. I logged in with no trouble on my Samsung Galaxy S23. Have you put in the correct ID and passcode and your 4 digit pin? Phone them again, and you'll get someone different if you have to.
  • First stage (entering user number) works OK for me on a PC; I haven't tried beyond that. At what point does it fail for you, and in what way?

If you've got pop-ups turned off try allowing them for Cynergy as they often have a Rapport Trusteer pop-up, might be that causing an issue, just a thought.

Unless your holdings with Cynergy are >£85k there's not much to be concerned about once the access issue is resolved.

If it helps this is a link to their login page:

As soon as I open into the website cynergybank.co.uk I get a message "This site cannot be reached"
I think it has something to do with HTTPS protocol and the website not complying.

  • The site was down over weekend but working for me today.
  • Tried again opening the cynergybank.co.uk website with different browsers. Chrome, Edge, Firefox
Still wont open and getting "This site cannot be reached

Think the problem is the https:// secure protocol
Firefox displayed this message when I tried to open the Cynergy website:

could not establish a secure connection to the server

On researching this message on the web I get.....

This is a website issue due to invalid SSL certificates, cache, misconfigured time and date settings, or HTTPS connection problems. The message may appear on different browsers, such as Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox

So it would appear that it IS a problem with the cynergybank.co.uk website, and that it has something to do with HTTPS protocol/connection issues.

Trying to get through to their IT department to discuss this is another issue altogether.

    Has anyone any ideas/thoughts?

I've just been in via Edge and Chrome.

Have you tried using the link I sent you 5 days ago which uses a URL beginning 'onlinebanking.cynergybank.co.uk' ?
  • I think it's the lack of any domain in the name preceding "cynergybank" that is your problem.
    https://www.cynergybank.co.uk works fine for me
    https://cynergybank.co.uk give me a "Hmmm… can't reach this page" ("DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN") error.
The nslookup ("name service lookup") tool from a command line prompt gives me a result for
www.cynergybank.co.uk, but not cynergybank.co.uk. The "onlinebanking." mentioned above is for actually logging in, while the "www." page is for public information about them.

Normally, companies set their system up to respond to a name without the "www." (eg the BBC does, by filling in the "www." for you). It's a little poor if Cynergy haven't set that up.
