Eating, drinking, sleeping, dog sitting and money earning sounds a perfect festive time.
Well done on setting up the zopa pot, I love my zopa pots! So helpful to be able to allocate money and see that it's ringfenced for that purpose.

What's the royal mail redirect you have to pay for?
It's for any post going to my old house that I might not have updated, I always seem to miss something, although there are still 2 or 3 letters that ended up there anyway. The original plan was just to redirect it to my dads at the start of the year when I was due to move here, but now I'm in my current accommodation a bit longer I need to do it for there, make sure EVERYTHING is up to date and then redirect again when I move, just for the peace of mind especially if there are any other little debts that do somehow crop up, they'll go to an old address whilst I'm still going through and changing them all.
Some good realisations today, the money I need to pay my sister is £20 less than I thought and a friend who was fostering my cat whilst I'm only renting a room is now going to take him on permanently so I won't have the monthly insurance payment for him anymore. It's a good thing in the long run, one of my dad's dogs would not tolerate a cat plus I don't know how long I'd be here for prior to renting my own place, plus he's much more settled and happy with someone who is home more than my shift work allows. I just need to dig out his microchip paperwork to change the details over and then speak to the vets as well. That's about £40 I don't actually need to pay next month.
Looking at my budget currently, I should have £120 per week 'spending money'. This is factoring in food, fuel, bills and the expenses I mentioned before all being covered already. It sounds a lot, I always manage to fritter it away somewhere but this is the new me with money and a brand new year so here's hoping! Any extra's I make from Prolific will go between Christmas/EF Savings and starting to build up a pot for my car insurance which is due in a few months and I really want to pay it in full for the first time ever.Starting Debt Total: £10156.43/£9723.43 Current Total

Evening all!
Payday today, though none of the debt payments will go out until next week with their direct debits. I have put a meagre £20 into the Christmas 2024 pot and transferred £500 over into my pot for being able to rent somewhere hopefully in May time. I went into town this morning with my dad's fiancee and picked up a few low cost bits in the sales but nothing like what I would have previously spent and I've also ordered my mums gifts for her birthday, they should arrive tomorrow ready to wrap up and then post out in a couple of weeks. So much more organised already than I ever have been for her birthday since she moved about 10 years ago!!
Going to pop out shortly if I can muster the energy to get ready for a couple of drinks with some friends up here, but I'm quite tired so won't be out for long and do not plan on spending much money at all. This will probably be the spendiest few days of this month's salary then the rest of the month I'll just be back home and doing overtime at work.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend xStarting Debt Total: £10156.43/£9723.43 Current Total

Happy new year everyone
Spendy days are done and out of the way, joined a few of the Debt Free Wannabe challenges including one for No Spend Days, easy first one today as I was too hungover to do or spend anything so had a day with my dad watching movies on the sofa.
The only spending I plan to do for the rest of the month really is fuel and food, will be watching Prolific like a hawk whenever I'm at home and doing as much of my SE work that I can. I cashed out £5.74 from Prolific yesterday and squirrelled it away into my Car Insurance pot.

Another post from me, my sleep pattern has not recovered from night shifts I think where I've been off and not had to force myself into the routine for another set of shifts. It will be fun trying to get an early night tonight (Tuesday night!!) to go back to work on Wednesday morning.
Been reading various Debt Free Diaries whilst watching TV and moving money around. I've made a shopping list for lunches and dinners for the rest of the week and transferred my money for the month for food shopping over into my Chase account, everything else will come out of my main Lloyds account to try and keep it separate. I also moved the money over to my Nationwide account for the debt payments that come out of there. Speaking of banks, it's gone midnight so a good chunk of my debt payments have come out. I'll go through my spreadsheet and mark off which ones have come out and update my signature
Also fighting the urge to snack, my appetite has kicked back in. I feel like I've gone back 10 years to my early twenties, getting home at silly o clock then wasting the day with a hangover. Certainly not how I plan to spend any more of my year!!!Starting Debt Total: £10156.43/£9723.43 Current Total

I don't think I could have picked a worse day to travel home....! I'm not a nervous driver by any means but I aquaplaned about 20 minutes into my drive then as I got closer to home the winds had picked right up and bits of trees flying everywhere. I nearly talked myself out of stopping to get my food shop but stuck to my guns as otherwise I'd undoubtedly have just ordered takeaway and then still had to do a food shop tomorrow. I went a few pounds over budget but they had sweet chilli rice cakes in Aldi I'd been looking for, for ages and I got a ready meal in there for dinner tonight as in my excitement for planning my lunch and dinner for the rest of this week, forgot about my very limited food storage space where I'm renting so will prep one lunch for tomorrow in a bit then as I'm using more bits up tomorrow I'll have the space to pot up some dinners and my other two lunches. But a £2 ready meal is better than a £15 UberEats order.
I like my drives to and from my dad's, I have a couple of hours to myself to think and my debt percentage paid is only creeping up very slowly, but then I am also saving for being able to rent somewhere a few months after I move otherwise it would be jumping right up so not much I can do about that currently but I'll get there with big overpayments later on in the year so it is all in hand
Hoping this weather settles down a bit before I have to go out to work in the morning, already bits of tree and huge puddles on the roads near my house, you can see where ones have already been cut up and moved out of the road but I need to leave just after 5am so I might be the first one to come across any that go overnight!
Only spends today have been for my redirect, food shopping and £60.77 to fill up my car so nothing frittered.
For now anyway, need to sit and relax and calm my nerves back down then make my pasta salad for work tomorrow.Starting Debt Total: £10156.43/£9723.43 Current Total

Given that nightmare journey I think the least you deserved was a ready meal and a couple of sweet chilli rice cakes!
