What I've noticed since moving to a detached house is how much quieter we've got the TV than when we lived end of terrace. And I thought we had quiet neighbours there, anyway!

When I was growing up I lived in a very quiet house, with almost no noise from neighbours or anything else. When I left home I lived for a few months in a flat overlooking a very large and busy roundabout, where the traffic noise went on almost 24/7. At first I couldn't sleep but after a week or two I got used to it. When I went home for a visit I couldn't sleep because it was too quiet.2

Yes, I realise that.
