There are reported worrying aspects to the conduct of the law firm, the lead generation teams and experts here, surely worth someone having a look just to be sure. I agree each claimant has signed relevant legal documents so will have brought the litigation on so are liable for the costs involved, but there are a lot of interesting information starting to filter out. I am sure more will come out over the coming months, which may be more revealing.
But has fraud not been active anywhere in the process it seems a wide blanket claim? An expert (or not) knocks on the door and tells folks they have a claim and makes many allegations giving the claimants a potentially misleading opinion of their chances of success and encouraging them to sign legal papers to make a claim. (Which they are then paid a commission on brining in. Vested interest perhaps on finding sufficient volume to make a living merit or not to matters)
CMC firms who have then produced a cut and paste report together, all claiming the same things with only address, date, damp readings and photos changes in each report. With an experts names then applied often with the expert not involved in any way with the report at all providing a misleading opinion there is merit in a claim (most are quite clear that the expert hasn't viewed the property. Again each CMC is paid on volumes delivered to the claim solicitors, so vested interests perhaps apply). An expert in court has said their name has been applied to reports they have not had any part in and intermated the CMC was applying his signature on reports and SSB appointing him after the event.
SSB have been aware of these issues with experts since 2021.. SSB using experts with a interest in the claim being made, these are all matters of public record via various cases (Jagger vs Axa Insurance is a interesting one of late but there are many others over the last 2 years).
If you have a look on the law Society Gazette over the last 5 weeks there are number of interesting articles on SSB worth a read and would certainly suggest its worth someone having a look into the conduct of all involved. The main fraud would be the fact that many claimants were led up the garden path with promises of huge sums of money once the case is won. SSB LAw dragged out unwinnable cases for nearly 3 years when the correct procedure would have been to assess the CWI early on and reject those that would not win the case. They appear to have used an initial 'expert' who found lots of damp but then a few years later decided to use another expert who found nothing and recommended that the case is not worthy of going to court.I'd lay blame for this on the first expert or SSB Law themselves for forging documents. In any case, majority of those claimants who lost or ended cases before court will be liable to pay defendant costs. Only the so called ATE insurance can save them but it looks like they have disappeared from the face of the earth. No one seems to had any payment from ATE insurance hence the Interim court orders from the defendants lawyers.0 -

SSB Law company has given me the biggest shock of my life when I received an enforcement letter through the post asking me to pay over £15000.These people came knocking to my house telling me I shouldn’t have had cavity wall insulation in a terraced house and they entered me into a No Win No Fee agreement and advised me that they have an ATE insurance which would cover the defendants costs in the event the claim was unsucessful or if they advsied to discontinue. They sent their expert surveyor to examine inside the walls with their devices and said there is a lot of damp in wall and I will have a strong claim, 3 years had past and they then claimed they lost the report and sent another surveyor to come and this time they said i don't have much damp inside my walls and told me I need to discontinue the case due to insufficient evidence.I still stayed calm and said ok thinking since it’s a no win no fee the matter will stop here but then I received this enforcement letter.I found out they've got a CCJ on me. They hid all the collection letters from me (that the claimant would have been sending them) and the only thing I got was high court enforcement letter. The claim handler at first was saying the finance director is aware and they are waiting for funds to come in and that they will pay before the enforcement deadline, they surpassed that deadline and didn’t even attempt to liaise with the enforcement agency like they said they will.I will now have enforcement agents at my door ready to take my car and house goods. These people should be locked up, they obviously filling their pockets and getting ready for administration as seen on the news. We need to sue these corrupted people. There are many people who have been SSB’s victims. Thousands are now likely to be owing tens of thousands of pounds in costs from defendants because they have discontinued so many cases. I am now part of a WhatsApp group that are all victims of SSB LAW. I have complaint to the company house they are registered to. I have reported them to Legal ombudsman, SRA, The Law Society and sent an email to my Local MP.I have applied for N244 and managed to get the writ of control stayed which pauses the enforcement action till the 8th December when I have a hearing at the court. Then the judge will decide if the judgement needs to be set aside. You guys also have an option to ring CAB and get breathing space for 60 days.

Hi
For anyone who hasn't done already, i would suggest ringing the Leeds County Court on 01133062471, they were very helpful and guided me through the process of completing a N244 form online which i have emailed across to the. There is a judge who is specifically looking at these SSB related cases.
thanks2 -
Same spoke to SSB today, saying it is adverse costs to the clients! Contacted my solicitors so will be discussing , so far it’s on hold. SSB has also written to RSA to hold? I was told by SSB law seek legal advice on professional negligence due to “adverse costs”?1

SSB are trying to blame the door to door salesman/expert who produced the first assessment of the damp. It's a futile attempt since there is no chance anyone would get any money from a negligence case against him, especially if he goes bankrupt.
