My Fibre 1 Broadband contract runs out March 2024, firstly had a call offering new 24 contract at same rate as paying now ( £25.16) others recently reported being offered a cheaper price of £24.99 than paying currently, I pointed out at last renewal I was offered cheaper rate and had no price increase March 22 due to renewing after 1st March and that renewing now I will face price increase March 24, person who phoned said BT up to that and will up renewal prices before 1 March, i replied will chance my luck at that time + option of switching elsewhere.
Last week had another phone call offering "free upgrade to full fibre" , person who phoned answered me that free upgrade meant no installation costs rather than same price as paying now for upgraded speed, told person who phoned I will keep things how they are.
No mention of EE yet, maybe that will come in phone call no 3.
Worth checking offers within online account regularly as known to offer cheaper renewal than offered by phone.

It seems a bit unfair that this rebrand restarts our contract length. I have 11 months remaining, but I don't want to restart. Do I have any options? Would I call BT or EE to try to negotiate a price reduction?

It's a contract, BT can't make material changes unilaterally.

Based on the email from BT yesterday asking me to chose an EE product.I assumed this was a forced move on to one of EEs products

it’s January, so it’s time for a reset.
What better way to prepare for the year ahead than with an EE Broadband upgrade?
From our Speed Guarantee which gives you the speeds you pay for, even at peak times, to stopping or pausing WiFi on individual devices with WiFi Controls – EE Broadband does more. Why am I receiving this offer? BT Broadband is becoming EE. And there's no better time to upgrade to EE, which is not only the home of our best mobile products but also now our best broadband products too. 0 -
Sounds like a contract reset to me, check the small print.
BT/EE always reset the contract (IME) whenever an upgrade or change is processed (eg adding TV or Halo).0 -
If it is anything like the one I got from Plusnet the other day where they are trying to get people to give up their PSTN line, then they weren't looking to change any contract lengths.
Equally however, they were looking to continue to charge the same amount without a phone line.
Read the T&C's very carefully but it does not necessarily mean they will be extending the minimum committed term.0 -
