It needs to be fat32 of course, oh and the max recommended capacity is 32GB, and the max file size is 4GB, unless you get creative with the formatting, but check Google for formatting greater than 32GB. In all honesty it took you a while to tell us what your TV(s) is(are) other than smart with free view play, use free view to view catchup. Of course 16+TB is possible (on an external disk) but that would be overkill of course since the max file size is still 4GB on fat32.4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . So if the limit is 32GB, how do you record more than that?

Ok, thanks for that, I've ordered a 128GB drive from Amazon.

A 128gb drive won't last 5 mins if you're are recording in full HD , there's a reason the minium size of hard drive on pvrs are 500gb
And ordering on amazon is risky as its awash with fakes, what's the stick you have ordered?
As you seem hellbent on ignoring advice on here and just doing whatever you want , I wish you well2 -

As you seem hellbent on ignoring advice on here and just doing whatever you want , I wish you wellThe flash drive will mainly be used for pausing rather than recording, I have a Humax FreeviewPlay box on the main tv for that.I've ordered a SanDisk drive.I take exception to your last comment, you're obviously not a very pleasant person. I don't know where/when I've been hell bent on ignoring advice given here, if anything, others have been more hepful than you have. You asked what tvs I'd bought, was that purely nosiness? And then asking what flash drive I'd ordered!!David.0 -

The is MSE after all
As for the tellys you have like others have said it's very hard to give meaningful advice when there's countless tvs out there and every one has different ways of doing things
I personally haven't had chance to dig through the instructions yet as I have a life outside of forums but someone else might have done
I apologise if my methods of helping people don't work for you1 -
