I switched from EE (extortionate prices) to SMARTY, which I believe uses the 3 network? They do sim-only plans, you can transfer your current phone number, and the prices aren't too bad - I got a deal on unlimited texts, calls, and data for £16 a month for 12 months. Plans are month to month, so you can either just let it run out or set up auto-renew.

It was stress-free changing over, but had to wait a few days for my number to transfer. Coverage will depend on your location, but I believe their website gives you a map so you can check where 4G/5G etc is good and whether it'll suit you.

I'm thinking to 5GB Lebara on vodafone network.  30 day rolling  So if I want to cancel do i just block debit card and won't get damaging credit score?   Or is it easy to access to cancel or change on their website (similar to giff gaff) to change plans or cancel?   Just checking before I sign up.  but 30 day rolling does mean ultimately can block card payment without damaging credit score?

Regarding getting damaging credit score on my old/previous o2 sim (they're supposed to email my bill)  and SIM has been cancelled and switched off but I owe some money.  I am overdue for previous direct debit but if I pay final bill, will that take care of that?  Just don't know how to deal with this.  Don't know how to pay it.  It's only £11
  • You'll need to try EE and/or Vodafone with a cheap SIM to really know what the coverage is like.

There are a few MVNOs that you can try as well, Lyca, Lebara etc.

If you want to keep your number you can get a PAC by text and make sure you give that to the new provider. Job done.
    What's MVNOs?

Mobile virtual network operator (a company which supplies mobile coverage through accessing one of the big networks, rather than using their own transmitters.)

You would need to give them an email address to sign up. You use that to login to your account and you can turn off auto renew. If you pac your number to another network the service and billing will stop once your number is transferred. Most people keep their number when changing network.

And, how do i pay my old cancelled o2 sim bill to avoid damaging credit score?

If you have any ongoing payment commitment eg contract then you need to cancel that before stopping any bank payments.

Try to get in touch with 02 and pay any outstanding amount

Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid

If your main concern is not damaging your credit score - just leave the DD open and the network *should* then take what they're owed
If you have PAC'd your number then it *should* all happen automatically
Re-Lebara - it's simple to log into their app and simply turn off auto-renew as mentioned above.
