comparing phone sim plans
Options
I'm currently using Giff Gaff which is great for convenience as I can cancel anytime but the signal is rubbish. Is it worth going with EE or vodafone? Think with Vodafone you can do either a 30 day rolling or 12 months on the talkmobile network- 2Gb data one on 30 days is £5.95. Is it easy to use like Giff Gaff? 30Gb data £9.95. 12 month contract £6.95 for 6GB. How easy to cancel or switch tariffs like Giff Gaff?
Forget O2, I had to go into their shop to cancel my SIM with them no one answered their phone- total nightmare. I don't want the hassle of not being able to cancel ever again I want be able to control it.

You'll need to try EE and/or Vodafone with a cheap SIM to really know what the coverage is like.
There are a few MVNOs that you can try as well, Lyca, Lebara etc.
If you want to keep your number you can get a PAC by text and make sure you give that to the new provider. Job done.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0 -
I've found 1pMobile very good, you can get unlimited calls and texts plus 4gb of data for £7.50 a month. They use the EE network and do wi-fi calling. Their website is very informative and everything just works.0

Switched from Vodafone to Lebara (which uses Vodafone) and been very happy.1

Lebara are currently doing 99p a month for 3gb, 300 minutes and unlimited texts.
It's a 30 day rolling plan, and it's 99p for 6 months, then £4.25 I think, it's on the MSE best deals.1 -

Different types of customer service though. GiffGaff community led online, o2 hopeless.

If you have a good Vodafone signal in your area, you could try Lebara. They are another MNVO like GiffGaff, but Lebara uses the Vodafone network. Lebara also do 30 day rolling plans and you can cancel in the same way online.
Alternatively, I think Vodafone have a subsidiary called VOXI.

I cancelled my 02 after being two days of not paying a direct debit of £11 not my fault, if I pay the bill after cancelling will that eliminate any credit issue. They're sending me final bill by email appareently, but not receive yet.0 -

I switched from Vodafone to ID Mobile. You need a decent 3 signal but they include wifi calling and roaming and are significantly cheaper (£7 pm incl 20gb). 3 months in and no complaints.0
