  • well well well. Not accepting the gatwick fob off attempt and doubling down on the very angry complaint about underhand practices of NCP seems to have worked.

Received an email from Gatwick customer service this morning apologising and asking for details of the letter and incident date so they can go and cancel the charge for me completely.

I will await absolute confirmation that it has been cancelled and provide a final update here but I just wanted to thank you people, especially @Le_Kirk and @Coupon-mad, for this extremely helpful, valuable and FREE service that you are providing. Amazing!
I have no doubt that without your advice, i would have huffed and puffed very angrily and then been screwed out of a lot of money.

I tip my hat to you good sirs

my apologies, anonymous user names make that a bit trickier to guess, should have gone with a gender neutral tipping my hat to you good people!  ;)

    I'm the lady Le_Kirk means!

Happy to help and we are also changing the law.  The bigger picture too. I'm on the Government Steering Group shaping the statutory Code of Practice coming in next year. This rogue industry is being regulated and I'm on the panel!

     :)

Please post your success and the right Gatwick email address, and a link to this thread too, in Successful Complaints about PPCs (last replied to today at 2pm, so no need for me to link it).

  • Well I said I would come back to confirm success. I've just got that!

Email back from gatwick customer services this morning confirming that NCP have cancelled the charge completely.
I also went back onto the BW legal customer portal because I wanted to rub it in their stupid faces but my account with them is now closed.

I will now go to the successful complaints thread as requested and do what you ask for there.

Final note: I'm very glad to hear that you are on the panel for the government steering committee, couldn't think of a better person to represent "real people" in this matter. This rogue industry is an absolute scam and the very kind of thing that we should be able to rely on government to protect us from. I wish you nothing but the best!

Thanks again, I will be using MSE much more in the future as a first port of call!

I can't seem to find an email for BW Legal, just their customer portal. Is there an email everyone is using?

They used to have parking@bwlegal.co.uk but I believe that was discontinued and I have seen this one used: -

I looked in having received a PCN on GMCA (statutory undertaker) land via the usual KADOE procedure which appears inapplicable as SU byelaws override private enforcement try ons.

There were some wonderful - for which I am very thankful - template letters to such as DVLA which I copied and redrafted - but when I come back to the forum I can't find those templates for love nor money!  If anyone recognises that description and can guide me in again - please!!!

The point of the post is - having written to the Authority that owns the land and the DVLA who gave ownership info to the PPC - should I write to the PPC and tell them where to shove their PCN given their invalid legal approach or just schtum up and see what the site freeholders and DVLA say first?

Sorry to be a beginner - but no-one knows every move!

You can't use POPLA. Too late.

You realise there's no keeper liability?
Hi.. I didn't receive any PCN 4 years ago and now had the Trace Debt recovery letter. I am, and always have been the keeper of the car, but my wife was using it in Wales. I haven't engaged with them as I thought it was a scam letter, but having researched the keeper liability, it seems all the advice is that I am liable?
