    There really is nothing like a bit of self interest to get some people motivated.  Wish it wasn't true but unfortunately it is.

    Good news on the blood tests - that's very reassuring.
    getting quotes can be such a hassle.  I'm assuming the roof is a priority?  Is the drive essential right now?  
    Would it help to focus on one big project at a time?

    Just wondering if you could dispose of the bedroom carpet for now?  When we were much younger we didn't have carpet while we were doing the house up, but we were lucky as the floorboards weren't too bad.  I do remember almost losing a bracelet down between the boards once, but you could always put rugs down for now.  Just a thought.

    With the bedroom carpet have you dried sprinkling bicarbonate of soda, brushing it in, leaving it for a few hours and then vacuuming it back up again?
