    Thanks Jwil, KK and TG

All's good then KK as I have spaces.

It's windy today but bright sunshine so beautiful out. Need to start work soon.

I need to return a small rug for £25 I bought 2 sizes as it is too small. I've had my car insurance refund already from moving.

I applied for the 25% discount the other day on CTx. I still need to get in touch with the utility companies, update my car address and P1p. Making progress.

  • How about a key chain, attached to you/ your bag before exiting the car and an umbrella. It will work out cheaper as an interim measure while deciding what is best and getting quotes.

You've done well finding a handyman and hopefully he'll be a lot more reliable. Don't view the cost as you are, he's enabling you to create a home.

Plants sound great and a touch of winter colour lifts spirits and wellbeing.

Stop being so hard on yourself!

  • I have this robot vacuum - it has a mop as well since 2021 and I love it - I never really use the app or alexa or remote  with it - though I could - just never bothered setting it up - I just set it going ...
The most important thing of course is to name him/her/they  ;) Mine is called Balthazar

    Mine:

Zimak Robot Vacuum Cleaner with mop, 2500Pa Suction with 6 Cleaning Modes, Super-Thin Quiet Automatic, Robotic Vacuums Self-Charging, Path Planning, App with Alexa for Pet Hair, Carpet, Floors G9070

It is out of stock but I recently bought this one as below as well for my mum - at moment £189 with a £49 voucher on Amazon  - i havent used it myself but she seems good with it

Proscenic 850T Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Mop, 3000Pa Strong Suction Robotic Vacuum with Mop, Wifi/App/Alexa/Remote Control, Automatic Self-Charging, Ideal for Pet Hair, Hard Floor&Carpet, 7.3cm Thin

I think look for deals but you want a cleaner with mop, you dont need to spend £300+, one that does carpet and hard floor is good.

You will need to have the floor clear - or it will trundle into socks etc ... but a good reason to tidy up ahead of the robot. They normally come with 2 magnetic strips you can put on the floor around areas with a lot of wires which work well.

    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

@savingholmes I too find grasses...underwhelming.   I simply can't understand what all the fuss is about.  You are settling in gloriously; it takes a while but good first steps.  Love Humdinger xx
