Thanks Jwil, KK and TG
All's good then KK as I have spaces.
It's windy today but bright sunshine so beautiful out. Need to start work soon.
I need to return a small rug for £25 I bought 2 sizes as it is too small. I've had my car insurance refund already from moving.
I applied for the 25% discount the other day on CTx. I still need to get in touch with the utility companies, update my car address and P1p. Making progress.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

How about a key chain, attached to you/ your bag before exiting the car and an umbrella. It will work out cheaper as an interim measure while deciding what is best and getting quotes.
You've done well finding a handyman and hopefully he'll be a lot more reliable. Don't view the cost as you are, he's enabling you to create a home.

Thanks MF and Beanie.
I will get there. It will be fabulous once it's done. I'm going to look at a robot that will mop and vacuum I think as it would be cheaper than a permanent cleaner and enable me to keep this laminate for now. @LadyWithAPlan please can you PM me a recommendation. My boss has the vacuum kind and also loves it.
I'd then need something lightweight for the stairs. Again please PM me any recommendations.
I need to get some quotes for the driveway.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I have this robot vacuum - it has a mop as well since 2021 and I love it - I never really use the app or alexa or remote with it - though I could - just never bothered setting it up - I just set it going ...
The most important thing of course is to name him/her/theyMine is called Balthazar
Mine:
Zimak Robot Vacuum Cleaner with mop, 2500Pa Suction with 6 Cleaning Modes, Super-Thin Quiet Automatic, Robotic Vacuums Self-Charging, Path Planning, App with Alexa for Pet Hair, Carpet, Floors G9070
It is out of stock but I recently bought this one as below as well for my mum - at moment £189 with a £49 voucher on Amazon - i havent used it myself but she seems good with itProscenic 850T Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Mop, 3000Pa Strong Suction Robotic Vacuum with Mop, Wifi/App/Alexa/Remote Control, Automatic Self-Charging, Ideal for Pet Hair, Hard Floor&Carpet, 7.3cm Thin
I think look for deals but you want a cleaner with mop, you dont need to spend £300+, one that does carpet and hard floor is good.
You will need to have the floor clear - or it will trundle into socks etc ... but a good reason to tidy up ahead of the robot. They normally come with 2 magnetic strips you can put on the floor around areas with a lot of wires which work well.
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

@savingholmes I too find grasses...underwhelming. I simply can't understand what all the fuss is about. You are settling in gloriously; it takes a while but good first steps. Love Humdinger xx4

Mine doesn't mop but it's a cheap one called Nigel 😀4

Thanks Lucielle - sorry I missed you earlier! Thanks too to LWAP, Crazycatlady2 and Humdinger1
Like the idea of a free set of hands - aka Nigel - but don't currently want the complications that go with that!
Well I finished work slightly early as my head had gone. I've signed up for gas and elec and have told the water people I am new to this address. I've listed checking the roof and sorting the driveway on the check type site for quotes. Will see what comes back. One guy has been and measured already. I've got some appointments booked in for later in the week.
As per my advice to KK - I need to make time for play soon - but currently in the 'everything needs doing now' phase. Still struggling to eat. Lost 4lb last week - which is nice but even so...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks GAP
Tonight I've managed to eat tea (what I'd planned for lunch with the addition of cous cous and a slice of cheese) - so that was positive and a gorgeous cream egg so it was just lunch I couldn't eat. I did eat fruit this afternoon though.
Just informed my dentist of my new address but also need to let my insurer know.
I've just updated my sipp provider with my new address. Since moving my sipp there in September - it's gone up £323 after a year or two of doing badly with the previous provider so I'm really pleased about that. My AVCs have gone up £765 since October 2022. Really pleased with both those results - the funds pretty much mimic each other now. Most of that growth was Dec to now. Given I only have £11.2K in those combined - that's a really nice amount considering I started with £450 and it's gradually been ramping up.
I've spent a lot of this evening trying to find my v5 so I can update it. I've created a pile of shredding. I even went and looked outside in case it was in the car. In the end it was in it's own wallet in a box I'd already looked in. But you can only update it online between 7am and 8pm which is truly irritating so I still have to wait. I'm impressed that I found it at all.
I had no idea you were supposed to clean or lubricate a shredder - just bought some special sheets to feed through it - to see if that improves how many pages it can take and stops it clogging up as often.
This week's priorities - Do my job - and
1) Ring P1p and change address
2) Update address on V5 and tax doc
3) Ring GP for blood test results and request a copy of my medical records
4) Shred
5) Update address for work and pension
6) Continue unpacking and giving things homes
7) Make art...
8) Update dental insurance
9) Update Cash Health Plan
10) Get quotes
11) Return rug
12) Return am**** item
I've ordered a robo cleaning thing - will see what works. Thanks for the recommendation LWAP. I went for a higher rated one in the end but only time will tell if I chose well or not. I'll start it off in my bedroom as I have too many things to put away still downstairs before I can use it effectively.
Wednesday is due to be busy. I'm due at the hospital - feels too late to cancel. Due in the office anyway so in some ways that works out. Then have counselling late afternoon / early evening.
I've made a little pile of other suppliers I need to contact to change address for. They seem to be popping up everywhere like mushrooms.
I also booked some annual leave for around Easter, my birthday, the concert I'm going to and 2 weeks off at Xmas! Needed some longer term things in my diary. Still need to book leave for going to see DS and decide what I'm doing about the cat. Will probably just put extra food and water out for him and leave him here depending on how long I'm away for. He hates going to the cattery.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
